Hi,


I didn’t know we need to pay for the Speech & Drama lessons in NCPS. I thought it’s part of the school’s basic curriculum. I just received letter to sign up and pay $256.80 (24 hrs) and the lessons are conducted by Lorna Whiston Speech & Drama school. Is it the same past yrs?

any one of your child updated you on the change to the school elearning portal? my kid came back and told me that there is a new interface (which the teacher showed them in class). But when we tried to log in, we can't go in.

i just called the asknlearn technical support and apparently there is now a new portal to log in.

wonder if the school will give further instructions coz i didn't dare to go in as they prompted to change password before proceeding further.

Mine the same problems, could not change the password too. :? I called 64897905 and the technical side staff helped me to solve my problems and now I'm able to login as usual.

He was very efficient and friendly.

hmm...did they re-direct you to the new portal i.e lms.asknlearn.com or its the old url that they helped you resolve?

Last year, we needn't pay or rather some token sum through edusave. But i don't think the standard is that good. So hopefully with Lorna Whiston, it would be better.

Last year, we needn't pay or rather some token sum through edusave. But i don't think the standard is that good. So hopefully with Lorna Whiston, it would be better.

Was it by external centre or by teachers? Last yr not be Lorna Whiston? Only $76 from edusave, $190 in cash. I don't mind it if it yields results. But my son quite shy type, not sure how much he can gain from it.

But how good can Lorna Whiston be, given the class size? Its letter contains a few errors too. I wonder if NCPS had bargained hard enough. :? A class of 30 will b paying $300+ per hr leh.
Haven't sign the form yet but told DS to feedback to teacher that I said it is v ex.

my kid’s been attending lorna whiston speech and drama for two years now - well worth the money - she use to be shy but now she is much more confident about speaking out in front of her classmate. i’m glad the school is getting a proper provider this year - in the end, u get what u pay for

[/quote]I too also concerned about the class size and how effective it will be for such big class, worst if they combine classes! I will monitor and feedback to school when necessary. I also felt price a bit steep for such big group. I believe at their centre, the class size should be smaller for the same price.

My son very shy to speak up and not so good in spoken english and expressing himself confidently in english. I really hope this programme will help him.

HI… can check if any of you paid for the Lorna Winston course with one cheque or 2? Don’t understand why have to make 2 separate payments. So troublesome. Worried that I forgot to pay for the 21 Feb payment.

Don't worry, they won't let u 4get 1. :lol:

Worse, we will b paying in cash, as no longer using cheque bk. Just wrote to principal to get him arrange collection first thing during assembly instead of during English lesson. DS just lost his wallet ytd.

Also registered our displeasure & told him to exercise greater restraint in making such expensive course compulsory in the future.

This year's course jolly well b better, given the amt we are paying. :roll:
