Undertand this is kind of growing up process, I guess, but how should I console my girl not to be bother abt such issues?
I have been saying again and again to ignore her but today still come back crying abt this girl...

My girl same here. One of her classmate aslo when she likes, friend my girl, don't like friend others. But not bad as to tell other classmates not to friend her. 😞

Tell your girl not to give up, look around, observe her classmates, there sure be one of them likes to be her friend. 😄

            Hi,

my gal is in P1 and about a month ago, she was asked to go to the LSP room to sit for a test which she claim was v difficult with questions on multiplications, divisions and additions in thousands. Apparently, she told me that only 3 students from her class was asked to sit for the test. She sat for the english one too and she said that was much easier. Does anybody knows what is the purpose of this test and has anybody’s children sat for it?

Not aware of such thing. I only heard of weaker students being grouped into a separate class for special coaching. Maybe your daughter is gifted? Is she very good at Maths since young? I wonder how school can \"see\" such ability only 1 month into P1....no matter what, shouldn't this a good thing?

                Hi timtim,

My gal is just average. I am puzzled too how they can ‘see such ability’ just 1 mth into p1. Maybe its just a random pick. Bt i feel tat if its a test to sieve out the gifted, then it might be too early to conduct the test.

Sigh.. this is part of the growing. I guess there's not very much we as parents can do other to let them know that we are always there for them. I still remembered the same thing happened to me when i was in preimary school. I ended playing with the boys because they are less \"petty\" with such things. As long as u can play, guys generally dun pick on you. As opposed to girls, some how we pick on others for all kinds of things... funny looking hair, speak strangely, fat, quiet etc...
I ended quite a tom boy in my early childhood years because of that. No matter what, all ends well. I exhibit no macho traits as an parent now. I cook, sew, wear make up, shop like all other women.

That being said, no matter what i think this relationship issues are not that bad in lower primary. I worry when they grow older, BGR, jealousy, puberty. That i admit, was a big hurdle in my life. Even subsequently when i started work.

Has all parents in P1 received the new list for chinese (hanyu pin yin) spelling? Yesterday, i was going to prepare DD for ting xie and then realise there was no new list. So no spelling today?

The ting xie #4 (Term 1) was with the previous list given out, it's on 9 Mar (Wed) as 8 Mar is school's anniversary. There is no new list for this week's Ting Xie and term 2 one not out yet.

I was not aware of the test and not aware of the grouping of weaker kids too. hmm…think my girl has been sleeping in class till she doesnt know what is going on.

Anyone has any tips for her to stay awake? She has been falling asleep in class till now. Teacher changed her desk to a lower desk but still no use. She told me now the teacher makes her walk 5 rounds in the classroom.
