No response. I am also curious as I missed the principal's speech that day due to work schedule.
My dc2 will be in the first batch to sit for the psle english new format and it will add on to the uncertainties ahead. :slapshead: Maybe no more t-score by then.

My boy just went to P1 for the last 2 days. Seems ok, but the stay healthy program during recess time seems not well organise. My boy ended up eat his own bread brought from home. Nobody seems bother to tell him he should eat the canteen foods.

Encourage him to eat the food at the canteen while he still has his buddy with him. If you bring food for him, he will fall back on it, unless you intend to pack him food everyday hereafter. The program is good to get the kids oriented and helps to reduce first day anxieties. Subsequently, they will learn to buy food. If the buddy isn't helping much, you can bring it up to the form teacher who could help keep an eye. There are also parent volunteers around. First few days there is free bread even for students from other levels this year. 😄

As shown on TV 2 days ago, minister HSK visited RV on the first day of school opening. Quite proud that RV was chosen for this impt visit.

I was surprised too that ds brought bread home , the kids were given mineral water too. Most P5 classes with air on? Ds said he is in air on class… Wow so lucky

Is the Principal interviewed? Saw only the HOD face only.

My dc2 is in P5 this year but my dc1 graduated from a different primary school so I am not sure about the standard of this school. I've heard that there were pupils in the best class who scored 213, 226, 227, etc for psle last year. Previously, I heard the minimum score was around 235.

Was last year's results unique due to some problems faced by some parents posted earlier and/or the tweak in psle easier papers? Is this trend going to stay? Does it mean I've to engage more tutors for my dd? Any advice or information is welcomed.

Lets cheer for 100% passes on 2013 PSLE. Even foundation class students all promoted to sec 1.

Well done n cheers to 2013 kids n parents 🙂

Zhenx, now the classes are band by eng subject first, so a student in A class can be good n Eng but weak in other subjects like math etc which in turn will pull down the PSLE scoring. Whether to pump more tuitions depend on child learning pace n needs.
