I am new to the Primary school education system, hope to learn from the experienced parents what are the things to look out here. TIA.

1st Qns: Does anyone know the school bus transport service schedule and charges from Bishan to Rosyth? What is the bus route if possible? TQ.

Rosyth holds their p1 orientation rather early in Oct as compared to other schools. Last yr, it was on 25 Oct. Do bring more cash to buy textbooks, uniforms, shoes & socks, bank book (for giro payment of school fee), name tag etc. Based on my experience last yr, it’s better to get the school uniforms directly from the tailor shop at serangoon central rather than getting them during the orientation. There was minimal/no time to try out the various sizes as the queue was very very long. The vendor kept asking the parents to buy based on "agaration".

Hi all mummies,

I am staying less than 1km from the school, would like to know is it really true that it's very difficult to be sucessfully ballot ? Lately have been very stressed in making a decision of going for the shot to go for the ballot at Rosyth (2C) or straight away enrol my son to his daddy's school - Chong Fu (2A). But the distance is so far away !!! Can anyone of you been through that kind of situation give me some advices please. Was told voluntery efforts don't help much too , is it true ? thanks in advance :grphug: :lol:

Hi, my son is in P1 now. During the P1 orientation, u can check up the transport services there. Based on my last yr experience, they won't able to tell u the exact route yet. They could do so only before the start of of the following year, so they need to finalise how many students wld be engaging for their services.
I believe the rate shd be ard $80.

For my ds P1 class, the teacher focuses on team-work & leadership skills.
Almost every child will be asssigned as a leader for something ... and this will rotate almost every term.

For English, it is focus on more interaction-type, hence there is really no textbook to follow.

My ds used to be a very reserved child , in front of teachers or strangers.
However, he has been coping very well here, and enjoys his class very much.. but got to hear lots of complaints abt this \"leader\", and that \" leader\". :roll: Seems as if he is the only perfect one around..
