      Hi there,

My boy will most likely be going to be in P2 next year in this school. May I know how do they get to select the CCA? And how's the school environment. Do they have gardening? I'm also from Punggol. 🙂
Hi. For CCA, the boys will receive a form or a booklet (can't remember which one) stating the days/description of the CCAs. They can write their 1st, 2nd etc choice of CCAs. The boys usually get into the first choice unless it is a specialised CCA like Robotics Club where the boys will need to take a 'test' to see if they have the basic interest/knowledge in Robotics. It is important for the shortlisting because the boys may have a chance to take part in National Robotics Competition.

To be honest, I think St Gabriel's Primary is pretty good and DS does well in all areas. There are some responsible teachers and I like that they take discipline seriously. My DS was pushed to the ground by a bully who demanded free lunches from my DS many times and DH had a talk with the Discipline Mistress who settled the matter the very next day. It is discouraged to approach the kids directly because kids are kids, they do make mistakes and going to them may scare them.

      Hope that helps.

This is also why I am at a dilemma if my DS should change school. I value the chinese language and hope he can go a to school that focuses in that area. This is something I will definitely need to consider properly after the SA2.

Which year is your boy in?

If P1 next year, you’ll get orientation where you get to buy books and uniform… If not, books are from Pacific and uniform from Shirley uniform at serangoon central. The exact contact you can get from the Contact Us from the St Gabriel’s Primary School website. Call before you make a trip down… Sometimes closed and sometimes no size.

              Hi,

Didn't you receive a huge envelope? The orientation is on 16th November - morning. You will need to fill in the forms in the envelope and make sure you bring all teh documents listed in there. The book lists, uniform, shoes etc. can be purchased on orientation day. Oh, bring your son along coz he will be in his class getting orientated with his form teacher and classmates.

              Cheers!

Since your boy in P2 next year, maybe he have to take part in the promotional exercise? It’s on 14 Nov i think. Where they gather in the hall, then their Teachers will take them to the new class for 2013.

If other levels, you can get the uniform for him from the Shirley shop at Upper Serangoon any time.

As for books, look out for the book list. The dates available for buying the level books are stated there. No point going on any other day as the bookshop will not stock the books for that level unless it’s stated as the date for the level books to be sold. Alternatively, you can buy online and it will be delivered to you.

There is no streaming whatsoever in P1 and going into P2, period.
