      Hi genki2

There is a school bus covering Bishan. You may call the bus contractor, Xing Sheng Transport Svcs at 64814013 or 64814529

Sorry, can’t help on your other questions, as my son is only at P1. There are 5 classes at P1, but I believe there are more classes at the higher levels

      Good luck!

          You’re welcome!

I’m staying at Marymount, not exactly Bishan. I know that there are quite a number of parents staying at Bishan though

So far, my son has adapted surprisingly well at the school. "Surprising" bcoz he’s usually slow to warm up to a new environment. I guess it has to do with how the classes are conducted. The principal said that they always try to cater to boys’ competitive nature so as to keep them engaged. For instance, the class is divided into groups which compete on gaining points based on behaviour, etc. Except for the part of waking up early, my son is enjoying school…seemingly more so than in kindy!

          Good luck to you!

I thought the 4x weekly remedials are only applicable to the P6 boys? You mean the other level students are now subjected to so many remedials as well?

My DS1 was in P6 last year, and yes, he was in school for supplementary / remedial classes almost everyday, including Saturday.

D2 is in P2 this year.

                      Hi BlackVelvet

My dh and I are considering placing my ds in St Gabriels’ in 2013. Our other choice is St Joseph’s. We are staying in Bishan.

Did your son benefit from all the remedials in preparation for P6 last year? It is obvious that the school’s emphasis is on improving the quality of teaching and learning. It is also praiseworthy that the teachers would spend that many additional hours teaching after curriculum hours.

                      Your comments, please.

Views on boys’ behaviour so far:

                        - from the couple of times I have been there, within sch grounds I find the boys well behaved and respectful of teachers etc. Am not sure about outside school though.
                        - so far, my son is enjoying school.
