Thanks, mommy Ng! Looks like no change from 4 yrs ago
Yup, girls perform better at this stage, hence the disproportionate ratio. Dunman High also has more girls, though not as bad, I heard

RE: Hwa Chong Institution (High School)
Hi, I have a P6 boy deciding between Hwa Chong and RI, and I have some questions regarding SMTP:
1) From which year does the programme start - Yr 1? Yr 3?
2) Do students apply for a place in the programme or are they chosen by the teachers?
3) Typically how many students are in the programme for each cohort?
4) Is the programme further subdivided into Math and the various Sciences (eg individual students can pick Math and not do the Sciences), or must all students partake in a combined Math and Science programme?
Thanks in advance for your input! -

No news yet means still got chance, good luck to you!zeedoo:
The NUS High results were already updated in the online application status yesterday. I saw a \"no\" for selection camp for my ds. Good luck!
Thanks zeedoo... it still shows \"no remarks\" for us...
Good luck for your other applications if any and for PSLE!
Thanks, although I'm not placing too much hope on the other application too. But yes, will need luck for PSLE! -

Zeedo, is it \"no\" or \"no remarks\"?
There are 3 columns in the status table. The 2nd column shows the status, eg \"completed\" for application form...I have a \"no\" for selection camp. The 3rd column shows descriptive remarks such as test centre...I have a \"no remarks\" for selection camp. Think it is by default \"no remarks\" in the 3rd column, until they want to inform those eligible to proceed about the next step
Maybe they are updating the 2nd column in stages -

Hi, I am curious whether RGS's domain test is just as tough as RI's? There is so much talk about RI's subject test but I don't seem to see the same for RGS. Perhaps there are fewer gep girls, so MS girls have better chance with RGS compared to MS boys with RI? So less talk then?
Do geppers have to take part in domain tests (eg Math, English) too? I thought geppers just go for interviews? -

Quite laudable, this gatekeeping effort by RI...but so much more work for the RI admin staff!Oh My Gosh:
My friend emailed RI and was informed his DS does not need GAT, just wait for the shortlisting/ rejection email. The boy was from MS, results around 85% for p4-p6. Does not have awards or competitions except he is a prefect (not exco member though). While most of us will be happy no GAT is needed, he is worried. Cos his guess is his DS may not even get shortlisted, hence RI determine no need to GAT. Hmm, I never thought of his thinking. So for everything, there are 2 sides of the coin.
This is quite unexpected.
It is good that RI is doing gatekeeping, so as not to have a flood of people signing up for GAT unnecessarily.
This will be going closer to the spirit of DSA. Hope in the long run, it will be extended to all applicants.
If your children are good academically but without the extras that proves to be more outstanding than others, you can always, and should, apply through PSLE posting.
The organiser of GAT on the other hand may be cursing bcoz they are losing revenue

That's a new perspective! Now I'm beginning to be thankful for my ds' chance to gat
Oh My Gosh, do you know which domain your friend's ds applied for?
