There has been some anecdotes from other parents that the canteen vendors sometimes ‘extend credit’ to some pupils when they didn’t bring money for food. It happened to my girl once too. She was short of 10 or 20 cents for something she wanted to buy but the stall auntie allowed her to have it. We are very thankful and promptly prepared extra money for her to return to the stallholder.

It was very nice of the stall vendor to do that. As a guide, the teacher's advice is to bring only 2 dollars to school everyday. Good for a main dish and a drink (if required). We always remind our girls to drink from their own water bottle rather than get those processed drinks from outside. So we have to check her wallet everyday and top up the cash to 2 dollars, in the process, we also get to know what they have taken during the reccess.

          Thanks !! Dragonflow

          Will sewed the name tag
Another parent told me that they just ironed on the name tag without sewing and the name tag is still ok. Maybe we did not iron long enough or the iron was not hot enough. 🤷
Yup..i spend 400 plus for books and uniform..

I picked the whole booklist and stationery, costs around 350+ and the uniforms around 90+. Total damage at least 450.

There are six books (paid) but to be given out when the school year starts. And there are no available stock of the black PE shorts (S size).
Please keep the paid receipt so that they know who had paid when they gave out the 6 books in class. The teacher asked the pupils to bring the receipt to school.

The black PE short (S size) is still not available. The bookshop told me it will arrive after the Chinese New Year.

Hi I’m new to Kiasu Parents.

My boy is due for enrollment in June for Pri 1.

We are deciding whether to send him to my alumni school (Kong Hwa) or Yangzheng (near my place cos we stay in Serangoon).

If your kids are currently studying in Yangzheng, can drop me a message or something? I would like to find out more about the culture at Yangzheng.

                    Thank you very much.
