Teaching and academically wise are so so, but a few teachers are good and caring and responsible too. A new principal will be in effective next year 2011. Nothing fantastic in this school but parents have to reinforce the teaching in school if you want your child to perform better.

After replacing with DE for a few years, the CA returned again this year when my daughter is in P.6. Wonder if it's because of the new principal or the MOE decision.

Sometimes they said DE is better than CA and now revert back to square one. Can't they make up their mind, I wonder... :?

If I'm not wrong it's Diagnostic Exercise and it's like mini test and marks not included in SA but CA is included.

Actually I find with CA is quite ok as this act as 1st indicator that help us to assess the strength and weakness

CA is fine with me too but it’s the way the school or MOE put it - sometimes it’s no good, sometimes it’s good. It’s like experimenting with the students to see which system is better, especially when there is a change in Principal.

                    Dear All Kiasu Parent Volunteers,

I am a Indian PR staying in singapore for last 7 years in Tampines.

My child would be starting his P1 eduaction from next year January 2012.

I am currently doing my Parent Volunteering at East Spring Primary School,31 Tampines Street 33,Singapore 529258

I would like to share my PV experiences with this school: its really very satisfying , rich & encouraging to know about this School’s mission, vision, values with School’s Infrastructure, processes, procedures.
Entire School Staff is very helpful.

I am especially very thankful to all teacher staff who clarified all my queries with respect to my child’s admission and future education.

The entire teacher staff who i interacted till date very knowledgeable & help Parents.

It has been a very enjoyable journey for me till now in this school & having penned this given this oppurtunity I would like to invite all the other parents who are kiasu & wishing for Kid’ P1 admissions to opt for this good school for its rich processes & procedures.

Curriculum time have been extended to 3.30pm on Mon n Wed. Thurs is only up to 9.39am due to contact time n cca. If got a choice, I would prefer to teach her myself at home. Sch spent curriculum time doing mass jog, mass pe, cca n contact time...

Luckily it's my child final year.

                        Just received the circular from my child regarding the Meet The Parents session and allowed me to quote part of the circular;

“The meeting is scheduled to take place on Friday, 27 May 2011 from 8am to 4pm in the respective classrooms.....The report books would also be released on that day during the session. As such, we hope to reach out to all parents and strongly encourage you to meet up with your child’s teacher.

However, if you are unable to attend the session, you will have to collect the report book from the General Office during the June holidays from 30 May to 24 June. The General Office will be opened from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Friday....

...You will be assigned a 10-minute slot for your dialogue with your child’s Form Teacher before meeting the Subject and Mother Tongue Teachers. ..... Your assigned meeting with your child’s Form Teacher is from 11 am to 11.10 am.”

So does that mean if the parents are not able to attend the Meet The Parents session, the parents will still have to collect the report book from the General Office during office hour? The parents are only allocated 10 mins for the session?

I'm seeing this as \"forcing\" the parents to attend the session instead of encouraging. I wonder are the rest of the schools the same?

Though it’s good to listen to the teacher regarding one’s child progress in school but again Meet-The-Parents session should be optional and the report book should be given to the child to bring home if the parents are unable to attend.
