        Hi mummies

Do u time ur child when he or she does the homework? Coz it seems to me my DD spent extra long hour on homework and can be easily distracted too. I found out that yesterday she even could not finish homework before going to school. Haiz…

        Hi aloyaloi, welcome!

Every class is different in terms of homework allocation.

I heard 1 C has their own class blog. And tonnes of homework.

My DS in 1E still cope-able with his homework and weekly class test.

            Hi Parents!

I need to register my child for Pri 1 in 2012. I wish to find out how is your child coping with the homework in Poi Ching? Is the scheme really work on them?

As my child still young and he seem to be lazy to do homework, i just worry too much homework, will have negative impact, of course maybe i worry too much.

I just hope that parents here will give me some advice. Thanks.

Not just tons. Progress is super fast. Some homework quite challenging. I used to think I have well prepared my girl for P1 and my girl should have ample time 'day dreaming' or idling in P1 and I myself can sit back and relax at least for the first year. I was totally wrong. I have to sit down wz her nearly every evening (if I am not traveling or doing OT) to make sure she finishes all homework in time.

But I can see most kids are coping well. They are just amazing. So I will just have to swallow my 'complaints' and try keeping up.

                Ululu,

This is not true in today’s education context.

I have a girlfriend who DS did well at PSLE. She thought she can relax now since her boy did quite well and has gone into Hwa Chong. To her surprise, she said it was worst than in primary school days.

Spending time with her DS basically every day to assist him in school projects, school work. Extremely taxing.

So we have to be prepared to go all the way out. But I think PSLE is a good indication where our kids will head to.

                Do you think so ???

                  mummies…

i do not to sit down with her to do her homework. she does her homework, while i read my book. No one turns on the tv. i wan her to learn hw to tackle her qns… she comes to me only when she has problems… i will only check after she completed
initially, she is quite reluctant… but gradually she understands tat i cant be sitting all the time… n if she refuses to complete her homework, she will have to answer herself to the teacher, not me… i cross my fingers too:SS

Hi Thanks for sharing. But that is still kind of sitting down to me... My girl does not really need my help when it comes to her homework. It is just that I have to constantly remind her not to take her own sweet time and also check and make sure she finishes all in time. I actually just found out over weekend that she missed out quite some online assignments...and worse, some entries have been closed!! When these things happened, I do feel the pressure and the stress. Anyway, my dream of breezing through P1 has been shattered. With that, I mean I thought she would have lots of own time doing things she likes , drawing, reading....outing.... 😞

No comments on school food though. We pack our own food.

Same here, I am still packing home bread and a small pack of milo or soy milk for his recess.
