Hi Dsmum!
My gal will be in P3 next year ... so far I feel P1 and P2 are quite relax. I personally feel that the stress come from the parents. Parents are the one who keep comparing results and asking what homework each class has to make sure their kids dun lose out.
I have seen kiasu mothers and also relax mothers .... so it really depends on the expectation of the parents
No choice wat. If no good foundation, harder to cope in P5/P6. -
Hi My son posted to P4 GEP .
Totally new to this area . please help parents.
1. I see from jan 2009 that lots of construction works going on and few gates closed. My DS will be joining the Student care in 842C. According to the student care children hve to come to centre themselves. so the Gate 1 is it safer to use . will there be traffic warden to help out when school ends.
2. How is the after school activities , do they need to stay long , if so how many days. do they have supplementary classes etc....
3. When enquiring in student care , they told me that school gives lots of homework , is that so.
4. Also what about the very good tuition centres near by , please help advise
I know its too many questions but :?: :?: :?:. -

I can only help to answer Q1 ... gate 1 is quite safe as it is a small road. There is no traffic warden on duty but generally its quite safe to use the traffic light crossing.Hi My son posted to P4 GEP .

May I know how do you manage to do so? Because my son is currently in one of the school at Ubi but he is very interested to go St Hilda which is very near to my house. In the very first place we choosed the school in ubi was because I am the old girl and we know the chances of getting into St Hilda is very very slim. Would you mind to share with me, thank you.Hi to all parents!
I'm new to this thread as my DD has been newly transferred to St Hilda's in Year 2010. May I know the Remedial/Supplementary lessons, House practices normally fall on which days of the week? Timings?
If I were to drop off her in the morning to school, which Gate should I at to avoid major traffic jam? Do you get their textbooks from the website given - Pacific Bookstores or can we get from Popular. Trying hard to save costs cos need to buy new set of uniforms, PE attires etc..
Sincerely appreciate any help from parents.
Thank you. -
Hi bitchymum,
My girl in P3 this year too! She joined netball in P2 and i guess she should continue that for P3. So far she is enjoying school.
Are you going to school this Friday for the teacher parent meeting?
How much pocket money do you give your child?
Regards,
LST -
Do you parents find St Hilda’s exams very hard, esp the Maths paper? How do you children cope huh?

Hi Lynn,
I do not think the Math paper (P1 and 2) very high standard. I would say there are a few challenging questions to single out the brighter ones.
The child just got to practise more… -

You can write to St hilda's and request for a transfer to their school. Of cos, they will need to look at your son's report book.
