      no. still waiting for reply.

      Hi All

just happened to come in this section . To me there is no proper student care near st.Hilda's . did you try one in block 842B. For Primary 1 to Primary 2 if I am not wrong they send children and bring back them. Talk to the principal of the centre.

        Hi cckmom,

Thanks for your reply! Guess parents having their children in st.hilda don’t need much of student care. ^_^

I was sending my girl to school today and saw a banner for Sherwinn Student Care at Blk 703 Tampines St 71. The banner advertised that they charge $290/mth. There was a phone number, but I didn’t manage to take it down in time. If you need the phone number, let me know & I’ll jot it down the next time I drive past there.

No problem, checkered! Guess since I don't send my kids to student care, I'm not able to comment on which ones are good.

Btw, which level is your child in?

              cheers & have a great weekend! 🙂

                cmm,

Do you know that in St. Hilda’s allow the student allow to join their CCA in the mid year?

My boy wanted to join thier violin but not sure it’s allow to join in the middle of the year.

                TIA

                  mikii,

Some cca allow students to join in halfway but other do not. Like for example, scrabble club may welcome new members anytime, but guzheng class does not as the students are taught how to play certain pieces and newcomers may not be able to catch up.

Can your boy play the violin already? If he knows how to play the instrument already, they may allow him to join in halfway. I’m not really sure though…got to check with general office.

My girl is in the guzheng class and I remember that they had a performance just before the June holidays as their "recruitment drive". You may like to watch out for when the violin class has their "recruitment".

Sorry not able to help much…

anyone know how much emphasis SHPS has for the kids?

I want a all rounded education system for my kid… will this be the wrong school? Does the teacher work closely with the parents on the child’s development?

Now that’s a rather odd question to ask - most, if not all, primary schools would emphasize on the kids. 🙂

But seriously, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the SHPS teachers during my days as a PV and I have to say they’re one dedicated lot.

Wanting an ‘all rounded’ education is perhaps a given for most parents. But of course one has truly to first define "all rounded-ness" and to realize that there are dependant factors such as :

                        1. Your child’s receptiveness / character
                        2. The parents’ expectations
                        3. The different teachers’ approach
                        4. Student-peer influences

If you’re referring to ancient chinese definition of all roundedness with "文武双全 " then uh, no. SHPS does not teach fighting. 🙂

Jokes aside, SHPS is a good school to be in. Give it a shot and you’ll see.
