      bigfoot:
The principal addressed the parents' concerns on catered food during the Parents' Meeting on 18 Jan. They had spoken to the caterer with regards to the quality of food catered.

There was no Q&A. If not I would like to ask the following question.

      1. Was Nonya Manis awarded the catering last year? If yes, was the quality of food the same? Did the parents of last year's P1 give any feedback regarding the food? Or was it just us, the parents of this year's P1, who are more demanding?

      2. If there was already negative feedback for Nonya Manis, why are we awarding the catering contract to them again?

Anyway, now that my DS is bringing home food, he is eating more and there is no more complaint of stomache. Hope the food is now ok for those parents whose DS are still on the catering scheme.
My son is now in P5. Nonya Manis has been the caterer since he entered the school. Though son complained about food, I never really bothered to investigate but I am aware that he skipped eating altogether sometimes.

The food is not healthy in our eyes. But on Tuesday my son was asking ne why we cannot prepare food like his school. He always spit our home cooked food into the toilet or kicked up a big fuss. So if he eats something, I’m

          happy already.

Are you sure he prefers the catered food? My son complains and told me he only eat portion not all... He hated the mui fan.

I'm really contemplating to stop the catering..... the vegetable they gave today was only 2 slices of cucumber!

Can anyone advise what else was covered during the Parents’ Meeting? My husband was working and only arrived after 7pm so did not get to hear anything.

Seriously, he did not miss much. I found it a waste of time going down. The Principal only addressed the concern of food catering and the anxiety of some parents regarding assessment in the hall. He could have simply wrote us a letter or email. There was no question and answer session. It is not a dialouge session. More like a monolouge to me.

In class, the FT went through some important info which mostly we already knew.

My DS is quite a fussy eater. So he did not eat most of the food catered. Understand that Nonya Manis can't prepare food that will suit every child. It is not possible at all. That was why I think it is still best for our child to buy from canteen (if possible).

On the other hand, im quite glad to be there. Nothing much was spoken during hall time (except for the food and assessment - which i have no issues so far) - but alot of my Q&A was done in class.

I also went to each teacher to chit chat (maths/ english/ chinese) and even asked abt how my boy was 'behaving' in class. In fact, quite a few parents did that too!!

Anywas - the chinese website that the teacher recommended is quite good!! Did any of your boys try it out? My boy logged in to 'play' the games and in the process we found out that there was a scoring system list of kids and their schools and their scores in the game!!

Thought it was an innovative way of 'teaching' and 'reinforcing' chinese!! 😉

Okies - my experience in MS is thus far a good one - so at this juncture ds2 and ds3 is def going there!! Hopefully it continues to be a good year for me!! :celebrate:

You can try Tien Hsia in Heartland Mall. My son has been there since K1 and he is now in P4. I see for myself a vast improvement in his Chinese.
