I used those past year exam papers (from other schools) and asked my son to do it. From there, I can guage what kind of questions will be asked. I try and make sure he can answer those questions. It definitely help. πŸ™‚

        Hi bigfoot,
Do you use any assessment books to teach your son? Thanks.

Yes, I bought one or two assessment books. But the questions from assessments are a lot easier than the school's exam paper. Look at the school textbook to have an idea what are the topics covered. The assessment books and exam papers will give u an idea the kind of question that the teachers will usually ask. For example, I realise the teachers like to ask the child to spell the number 12. It appears in many school's exam paper and that is the only number my son doesn't know how to spell. So now my son know how to spell \"twelve\". πŸ™‚

My son is in P1. In his science project, he is supposed to draw a picture of an animal from the story "Big, tall…". My son said he has not read the story before and I can’t even find that book. Does anyone know where can I get hold of the story?

              Hey Namie,

Are u referring to \"I'm a Junior Marist Scientist\"? Is that a science project? I thought it's under Health Education? Anyway, I believe the story is in one of the books under Stellar. My son did mention there is a story there. Anyway, we choose not to do that activity. Just completed with my DS 2 days ago. πŸ™‚

                    Hi Vicki,

It's known as Core Curriculum Activities (CCA) now. No more EXTRA but CORE. πŸ˜„

I opted for Badminton follow by Wushu and Table Tennis. But I understand there is a selection for Badminton. So it is not for everyone I think. Have you registered your boy?

Wah! Your question very hard to answer leh. Let's just say that in every school, there will be a mixture of different type of teachers.....

Its how you percieve them to be πŸ˜„
