      CayennePepper:
      Hi parents

Remember to take a look at the announcement section of your Ask N Learn for the SA2 feeback (by subject).
Thanks for the timely reminder. I nearly forgotten about it.

I have just ordered the textbooks from popular and pacific bookstores. I notice that the textbooks from popular are general cheaper.

I believe the prices listed by Popular are sans GST. When you include the tax, many of the items are actually pricier than Pacific.

On another note: what is this P1 recruitment for badminton and table-tennis? I’m still not clear…do only those who are recruited sign up for Sat practices? or can anyone sign up first? Do they recruite boys who do not go for Sat practices? What if we want to sign up just for the exercise (ds is very energetic)? Sorry if this was discussed earlier.

The price stated at popular online store include GST. It is indeed cheaper. It's cheaper by between $0.25-$0.55 for every book. You can check it out. If you order more than $100, you will get a $10 voucher (only if you choose the delivery service which cost $10). I couldn't reach $100 so I bought My Pals Are Here! English Grammar Tests 2 [Paperback] and My Pals Are Here! Grammar Workbook Primary 2 [Paperback] to make up to $100.

Books that can only be bought from Pacific are:
          1. Inquiring Into Our World - Pupil's Folio (P2)
          2. Inquiring Into Our World 2 - Activity Book (P2)
          3. P2 Maths Process Skills - Booklet 1
          4. P2 Maths Process Skills - Booklet 2
          5. My Pals Are Here! Maths - Tests Primary 2 (2nd Ed)
          6. My Pals Are Here! Maths - Homework Book 2A (2nd Ed)
          7. My Pals Are Here! Maths - Homework Book 2B (2nd Ed)
and all the MSHS exercise books.

I don't know how much I save in the end but since it was done thru' the internet, there was no hassle at all. 🙂

Hi bigfoot, I actually compared prices for my dd’s books, not for my ds (I bought all books and uniforms from MS on Admin Day as it was more convenient). I wasn’t offered the Popular $10 voucher and for me, the Popular prices were higher compared to the Pacific ones. I don’t know, maybe my volume was low and I hadn’t reached ‘critical mass’ to enjoy discounts.

In any case, I’ll certainly check properly next year. I think this is useful information, especially for families that need to tighten their spending.
