Marist admin pple just smsed all parents to put a labeled thermometer in their kids' bags on 3 Jan (first day of school). The sms said you can buy the thermometer from the bookshop for $4.20 if you don't have. Most pharmacies also sell this quite cheaply.
$4.20? That's pretty expensive isn't it? I remember a few years back it was less than $2 in my school! Maybe it was a subsidized rate then? -

may I know how much is MSH bus fare to bishan or thomson? does the bus driver increase fare?
As far as I know, there is no increase in fare. For Bishan, it's $60 for one way and $70 for two way. -

For LMS login ID and password, the school will inform the parents at a later date. The company will create the login ID (usually using the students birth cert no) and password for every student. Once this is done, parents will be informed.Hi all,
I saw on MSHS website ,there is a link to AsknLearn LMS portal, may i know how do we create our ID and password?
Or will it be given to us in school or already given?
Thanks! -

P1 wear School uniform on Tue n Thurs. Mon, Wed and Fri wear PE attire. So that means never need to wear tie for the whole year?
Yes, my DS did not have to wear his tie for the whole of last year. To me, that's great news.

I am afraid you have no choice but to use this bus operator. It is monopolised by one company. The school did mention they sought for 3 quotes and this operator gave the best rates. We send our kid to school in the morning and he only takes the return trip by bus.
I think most bus company will charge the same way and around the same rate. They can't undercut each other too much. Guess we have no choice in this aspect.
By the way, for those students who have CCA after school and need to take school bus home, it will be $5 PER TRIP. If your DS CCA end earlier than other CCAs, he has to wait for the last CCA to end. I just found this out through the bus operator and school admin. -
hi, can i check if anyone out there have the school bus operator contact no?

Hello,
I’m new to this forum. Glad to find this forum, I gathered more information from all your postings than from the school website.
My boy is also going to P1 in Maris Stella tomorrow.
Really worried for him as he is a special need kid (he is autistic but high functioning), but what to do, there is a limited choice for him so we got to let him try mainstream education.
I also did not receive sms with regards to thermometer. The latest I receive is regarding the baby healthbook which we do not need to bring. -

I thought that was mentioned during the orientation. There is no SMS sent on this.
Maybe any other P1 parents can help reconfirm this? -
Did anyone pack food for recess? I was so excited… packed pizza for his recess today. DS said the queues in the canteen can be very long so he is happier with packed food (more time to play). I’ll sacrifice my sleep and pack food for him on alternate days.
