Top 3 positions from each class. But I understand that the school is not giving out any awards for P1 classes this year. In the letter it was stated P2-P6. The school is moving from placing too much emphasis in examination and tests. This is inline with the recent changes in MOE. If you remove formal assessment in P1, then there should not be any kind of award given out to students. Make sense also. Just my guess. -
Anyone know which are the top 3 classes for P3 next year?
-
Allocation to P3 classes is random i.e. there is no "top three classes" concept.
-
Usually it will base on something, no matter what is being said. Alphabetical order of family name, overall standard ranking, class ranking, strength in certain subjects, etc.
-
Haha....from what I heard from grapevine is that all pupils in P2 will be ranked according to their P2 results (of course by the school and parents will not know the ranking) and then top student of cohort goes to 3A, second top student goes to 3B, third top student goes to 3C and so on...so in that sense, no \"top class\".
But I don't know how true this is

The top boy in my DS class will be going to 3B. Anyone else DS is going to 3B as well? I don’t believe in randomly assigned as it doesn’t make sense. If they choose to split then there must be some reason. It may not be purely academic. If it is academic, then it will be quite obvious. My two cents worth.

All P3 classes are of mixed ability.
-
Yup. I also heard that it is random - from current year’s P3 parents.
-
Yes, it’s random allocation for p3.
