Don't think they need to spend a cent but I will still give him $0.50 a day. Will make him save the money end of the day. Remember to give them some $0.10 coins in case they need to make phone calls. 😄

I read somewhere (think it's inside the booklet) to give them a Singtel phonecard as office phone is for emergency only, so maybe no coin-operated phones in school? Public phones outside are all card-operated ones too.

That reminds me... i need to bring him to a public phone and teach him how to make a call using either coins or phone card!
They have both Phonecard public phones and coin operated phones. I used to buy phonecard for my DS1 but everytime the card expires before he could finish using the value in the card.

My son's name tag is green though house color is red. I think name tag color is standardized across the standards so teachers at one look know they are P1s.

I hav not receive the name tag yet, when did you guy receive it?
do we need to iron-on the name tag to the house t-shirt too as it didnt mention in the booklet?

I received it about a little more than two weeks ago. Together with the name tags, there will be instructions on how and where to iron it on.

I received mine on 30-Nov but I ordered late (mailed my order to them i/o ordering on orientation day). I thot the name-tag is for uniform only, must we iron on PE shirt also? And now that you mention, how about house T-shirt?

I sew the name tags on every piece of uniform, right to the house t-shirt. There are a number of MS students in my company’s student care and I saw that they have name tags on their PE shirts.

                  Hi Namie,

No need to have tags on their school shorts right?

                  Hi Vicky,
Where did you get the S$20 Casio watch?

I bought the wallet, water bottle, socks, ergo bag, pencil case, stationery etc already.

Will get even cheaper Ocean Bay school shoes for him instead of BATA. Went to Bata yesterday and the quality is quite bad for the cheapest ones. So I will get the Ocean Bay ones from those neighborhood shops. Anyway, velcro shoes can only be worn in P1…

Erm, where can we even find such phones nowadays? Maybe I'll write an email to his teacher to get her to teach them how to use the coin or card phones... This is going back in time... 😉

Did anyone of you manage to buy shoes with laces? I went to Bata but was told the smallest sized shoes with laces are meant for at least 9 years olds.

Bought my son a watch ($28) from Vincent watchshop. He was really thrilled because till now his "watches" are those Power Rangers watches that are more like toys. This is his first "Real" watch. He saw me wearing my watch yesterday and asked me if I got mine from Vincent watchshop as well. His expression told me he is very proud that his watch came from there.
