LLX, yeah, I agree it is wonderful to have 2 girls. Though my 2 girls like to bicker at times but after that they will still be good friends :snuggles: Your 2 dds can even share textbooks!

Oh, it slipped my mind on the textbooks. Haha, thanks for reminding me I can save some bucks this year. I remembered spending $400++ on getting my dd1 school stuffs!

$400! :yikes: what exactly do we need to buy?

Hi can'tbear it and tinkerbelle! and all newbies to MCS!!!

wow!!!its been quite a while! I remembered when i was soooo eager to receive our comfirmation letter t MCS! :nailbite:

I'm glad your DS is doing great now can'tbearit. My DD3 have HSP and it was quite a nightmare at the hospital! 😒
I've been super busy too.
I wonder if Tinkerbelle can share her P6 tips with me...my DS1 will do PSLE next year and i,m already hyperventilating...dun think i can be as cool as tinkerbelle!!! :salute:

My gal LOVES her teachers and friends and I'm sooooo glad!
Exams around the corner πŸ˜“ πŸ˜“ so we've got to work harder!
Hi funkymonkey,

Long time no 'chat'. Great to see you here again. :imcool:

I'm real glad to hear that your DD is enjoying sch and loves Ms. Sng & her classmates. Ya, how time flies......term 3 exams coming soon. Not to worry, the gals have next Thurs & Fri to revise during their 2 days off.

Sorry to hear about your DD3's hospitalisation. Hope she's well & active again. Is she still anti-pink & likes dinosaurs...keke??

Cool about PSLE???? Keke...Not quite.... πŸ˜“ Just ensure your DS' P5 foundation is solid so he's ready for next year. If you want, can start on some P6 topics during the Dec holidays as there isn't much time for P6 kids to learn all their new topics within 6 months. Basically, after SA1, it's all revision from then.

Hi miffymiffy,

Welcome to MCS. Hope your DD has settled in nicely after the transfer. Is she in P1 or P2? πŸ˜‚

Gin:
I have applied for exemption from Mother Tongue for DD2. I wonder when I will get confirmation for that. I will try to make primary school years as enjoyable as I can for her. She can take her 2nd language in Secondary School, as far as I am concern. I will take whatever steps necessary to make sure that my girl has a life! Crazy system here in Singapore. Not in favour of 'high pressure' cooker style of living here.

Hi Gin,
All the best with your application for exemption from MT for your DD2.
Gin:
DD2 had her tonsils removed yesterday pm. So, giving her extra, extra TLC :).
Hope your DD2 is feeling better now after her tonsillectomy. Heard lots of ice-cream is good after removing your tonsils. :politebleah:

We received the confirmation letter yday from MCS. Shall we arrange to meet at Orientation? We should have KSP T-shirts :imcool:
Hi all 2012 P1 parents,

Funny you should mention getting KSP T-shirts....actually MCS is raising funds for the sch's upgrading. The sch is selling Marymount T-shirts that comes in various sizes XS-2XL at the sch foyer currently. If you're interested, maybe can drop by MCS and get a T-shirt and support the sch in their efforts to raise more funds for better facilities for our gals. Cost is $8 for XS and $10 for S-2XL and the gals can wear these shirts for PE lessons. There are sizes to fit Mummies & Daddies too. πŸ˜„
Hi tinkerbelle,

So glad to see u back. Was wondering where is our marymount guru gone to...

Yeah, it's a relief to know we don't have to move.

Hi LLX04,

:snuggles: Glad to see another familiar 'face'. How have you and your DD been?

 Haha....no guru la. Now you guys are the gurus. Good to see that you guys are sharing with the new parents.

Ya, told DD2 last night about the sch upgrade and first thing she asked was if the sch will be ready before she leaves the sch. Haha...she wants to enjoy the new facilities... πŸ˜‰

Hehe, sorry for the late replied. We are doing well except this week seemed like a holiday week to my DD. Now its a pain to drag her back to 'school mood' while preparing her mock chinese test.
Hi LLX04,
Know what you mean. Wow....4 days off for your DD during the PSLE Oral days..shiok!! Then must tune back to 'sch mood' for CA2 exams after that. :rahrah:

Anyone know if there will be a test for the kids during Orientation? I wasn't even thinking of bringing dd

Don't know about the test, but I heard from others that during orientation, the kid will meet her classmates and teacher, if I'm not wrong?

Tinkerbelle, LLX, Can'tbearit, Miffy, can tell us what to expect during MCS orientation?

There will not be a test during Orientation Day for P1.

Basically, when you report to sch for orientation, drop your gals off at the foyer according to their allocated class. There'll be prefects and teachers to assist you and all classes are clearly labelled on placards.

The prefects will take care of the gals and direct them to their respective classes to meet their form teachers and classmates. There'll be a walk-about the sch and the prefects will show them where the toilets, canteen etc are. Subsequently, the gals will watch some performances by various CCA groups in the hall.

After dropping your gals off at the foyer, parents will head to the hall for the Principals's talk about the sch's programmes and watch some performances by various CCA groups. Following that, parents will be directed to their DDs' classrooms to fill in dental forms, catechism forms, Giro forms etc. Once all the paper work is done, parents will then proceed to the hall to pick their daughters up.

Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect that day. Have fun meeting other parents. πŸ˜‚
