hi alll,
i can't recollect why there was a payment of $3.50 in the classroom..
is it for the report book?
then must de-select from the booklist, right?...
I will assume that we need not buy the report book anymore since we already pay $3.50 in the class room.
KSmum, I only paid $17.50 for 好朋友. I asked whether I can pay the $3.50 for report book but they said they were not collecting it....
You ladies are sharp! I was too Kan Cheong, have already ordered online yesterday. Looks like I'll end up with 2 report books!
Subscription fees for 好朋友: $14
Report book: $3.50
Amount payable: $17.50 -
Phoenix, oh I see, so the money I paid included the report card! Then they shouldn't have included inside the booklist, confusing all of us :stompfeet:
-
Tinkerbelle, guess the Chinese cards are still useful somehow, I shall attempt to track down a second hand copy if possible.

Hi phoenix,Tinkerbelle:
Hi phoenix,
So is your DD currently already learning French at an external language
sch? Is she exempted from MT in sch then? I know there's a P3 gal in MCS who takes French externally and she's exempted from MT in sch as her Dad is French.
Hi Tinkerbelle,
My DD has been learning French as a third language at an external language school plus a private tutor to read stories and sing French songs with her at home for a few years now. She will take Mandarin in school as that is her MT.
Wow....that's really impressive!!! :salute: And she's taking Mandarin as her MT as well. What a talented gal you've got there.
Just curious, do you think French is a difficult language to learn? -

Hi fmastuki,
Hi Tink.Tinkerbelle:
Hi fmastuki,
Yeah...it's always exciting to get new textbooks for the following yr. DD2 gets real excited flipping thru all the new textbooks. The excitement dies down when she has to sit down and do real work.....haha.
I hope not in my case. She came back with loads of story books from the Popular Bookfest today. Her poor godma......She's gonna fill her days with her story books and I'll have her reintroduced to her school books when they're delivered on the 2nd Dec.
Looks like your DD had fun carting books home from the Popular Bookfest today. My DDs have been nagging me to bring them. Will bring them down to the Bookfest on Thursday. Hope it won't be too crowded that day.

I think any language gets harder to learn and master as you start later. Some of the children in my DD's class struggle with French as the phonics is quite different from English hence the pronunciation. The language is further complicated with the feminine and masculine elements to each object. Her teachers don't encourage students with weak English foundation to take on French as it may jeopardize the learning of both languages. However, given the right encouragement and great teachers but most importantly, loads of self interest/motivation and ample opportunities to use the language, French is a beautiful language! -

Hmm... i paid $17.50 too! So that means must get the report book? Ai yo, what a mess! Think my hubby de-select it when placing order online. :slapshead: -
thanks, tinkerbelle for the tips…
will try them out soon! -

gorilla, the mummies are saying $17.50 includes report book already, so your hubby did the right thing
I asked if I can pay the $3.50 on top of the $17.50 and the lady mumbled something about no need to pay??? Anyway, guess she was meant the $3.50 was already included in the $17.50.
