Tinkerbelle:
      Hi,

The 'schedule of Activities' for Term 1 (MCS's calendar of events) is now available in the sch's website under the 'Download' tab.

For P1 parents' info, the 'schedule of activities' will be available every term. In an effort to save the environment, the sch will not distribute the schedule so do check the website regularly for updates.

Here's the link for Term 1's schedule.

Tinkerbelle, Thanks for this! Would you know what is Diagnostic Test (English Language)?
Thanks KS Mum, I still have not bought Maths Builder 1B 😛 better go and get it before it gets sold out.

michyms, you can also get Maths Builder 1B from Popular Bookshop if going back to the sch bookshop is inconvenient for you 😂

Tinkerbelle, thanks for the advice. It isn't available at both popular or the school bookshop! Guess I will have to wait for the reprint. I have 6 months to secure a copy.
Michyms, you mean the bookshop have no stock now?

          KSMUM:
Was thinking of letting my DD (P1) to join CCA, anyone have any idea what the workload like for P1?

          HI KSMUM,
Generally, P1's workload is not too heavy and is the best time for them to join any CCA if they can handle waking up earlier. If your DD joins a CCA, the sch bus will not ferry her so you'll have to send her.
Hi,

Does anyone know anything about dance club and what does Art club involves? Needs enlightenment here! :scratchhead:

              Hi chubby mum,
For lower pri, dance club exposes the students to different types of dance such as Modern, Chinese, Malay, Indian and Fusion dances. They'll only specialise in either Modern or Chinese Dance from P3 onwards.

As for Art Club, they do a lot of different art projects like drawing, watre colours etc.

Just FYI, the students have to go for trials/auditions to join a CCA. Only those with potential will be selected.

Thanks tinkerbell! This is great info. DD likes dance n art so probably let her try. Do u noe how is the audition like for drama?
Hi chubby mum,
For drama, the audition varies slightly every year. Last yr, the gals have to prepare a 3 min speech, introducing themselves and their hobbies etc. The previous yr, the gals did something related to Fairy Tales. If I recall correctly, it's Little Red Riding Hood.

The teachers are basically looking for people who are loud and can articulate well; speaks with confidence and expression. The gals will be given all the necessary info to prepare for the audition.

Is your DD interested in Drama?

                Hi michyms,

The riding ranch sounds interesting. Mind sharing where this ranch is?

Wonderful news that your DD is enjoying sch. Yes, many P1 do have to re-adjust to the longer sch hours and are usually tired. Give your DD some time....once she gets used to her new schedule, she'll be fine. The weekend is a good time to recharge :snooze:

Hi Tinkerbelle, I went to Riders Lodge. http://www.riderslodge.com.my/ Very victorian and English, and I loved the ambience 🙂

:thankyou: michyms. Will definitely check it out.

                  You're most welcome, michyms.

A 'Diagnostic Test' is just a different term for a 'CA1 test'. It won't be a full exam paper though. The gals will be tested on different components each term. P1 & P2 will only have the full exam paper for the final yr exam.

                      Hi chubby mum,
No harm trying out for the audition though. You never know, your DD might just surprise you. Furthermore, it will be good exposure. :rahrah:

I like the idea of connecting thru emails for parents who opt for that as handouts will be easily misplaced or not read if we work late. I also duno what is going on in class as my dd said teachers have not taught them anything, just talking n talking. It will be helpful if they allow us to sit in 1 -2 hrs in class nex week. My friend’s sit in 1 hr on day1 n this sat attending class at Sch on how to do computing with kids. Hope MCS will have this soon…will email form teacher to feedback. Guess more mummies feedback more chances…
