in the end, on choosing a school, there are so many factors to weigh in and only parents can know the \"best\" way for their own kids. affiliation for some, holistic education for others, distance for some, psle results for others, a place for their kids' kids even in future for a few parents.

for me, i benfitted from having an affiliated sec school as i barely made it in psle. the affiliated school, because of its committment to its own pri school students through thick and thin, took us in and gave an opportunity to me and others in sec school. so affiliated school is important. then again, affiliation is not the only criterion for some parents when deciding the school for their kids

Can someone advise me. My girl preparation tutor commend that the school mathematics is not as good. How the parent feel so far ?

Hi cny13, ou experience was also >2km when we registered our dd to MCS in phase 2C supplementary as we were balloted.out in phase 2C in an elite school. Guess yours stands a better chance especially if you are a citizen.

Maths has been a whole lot better. You should see it in the PSLE exams results. My dd is using the Onsponge book for their school exercises which are far more challenging than the usual textbooks. I don't know what your tuitor is referring to when he/she said about being weaker in Maths.

I don’t think the Maths standard is too bad at all. On the contrary they have tests practically every week no chance to slack at all!

How is the school hw? Maybe towards to the tutor, my girl is an average girl so she think neighnourhood school is good enough for her.
But I thought convent school is better for girl in the value.

In the beginning there seemed to be quite a lot of homework, but now my dd has gotten used to it plus gotten used to tackling on her own… So it’s been pretty good. English standards are quite high… Chinese could be better but I am happy with it all.

Hi, for my dd it has been alright for P1. She breezed through. P2 was quite something when she started in 2H. She has 2x more homework than her peers. Now she’s P3 and been on the same homework rate but more subjects such as science. She enjoys school and adores her Maths teacher. So I guess it’s quite ok for now.

Hi, the school principal did address this last year. No impact to school. Only the convent next to the school and its nursing care will be impacted.

Best if you call the school if you are bothered by this.
