Hi mums!
I have nvr baked anything but I suspect my kids are allergic to gluten to am thinking of making gluten free bread for them. They love all kinds of bread and it is a staple for them. I bought some gluten free bread from the bakery at the entrance of the supermkt at Tanglin Mall but it tasted horrid. Cedele told me they do not sell 100% gluten free bread too.
May I know if gluten free bread can taste the same as normal bread? Does anyone hv a recipe to share for gluten free bread or cake?
Thanks!

since 1985 I believe.
So some people who scored 280+ in that era were not really top scorers.
Out of 400, not 300. When did they change to 300? -

And for those going for ballot in 2C, I wanna wish you the best of luck! Wear red on balloting day
I can tell you I was v nervous last year!
And do drop me a line after you secure a place in SCGS for your DD so that we can exchange contact information.
Thanks and best of luck to all of you! -

Yes I know of one actual case. After 2C and before 2CS, she made SD and changed to grandma's address and got in under 1-2km. Why wouldn't it be ok (this ia a genuine qn, not rhetorical)? There shd not be a diff from earlier phases? I'm sure parents in earlier phases do that to to their advantage where necessary.
Hi 2hotTOhandle2hotTOhandle:
Everyone's situation is different. Strategy-wise, if you do get into a 2CS situation, and you can choose to live somewhere else nearer to a 2CS school that you are eyeing (maybe you have multiple ppty), you would have to quickly change your address between phases 2C and 2CS to increase your chances of securing a place in that 2CS school.
Do you know of anyone who did this changing of address between P2C and P2CS? OK with MOE?
I guess the right qn should be: Is the child really living at that address? It should be bona fide in my personal opinion. But the system is full of loopholes don't you think? Resourceful/tactical parents can use these to their advantage. Above is just one example... -
what would have been your next choice if you did not get chosen?
only those staying within 1km need to ballot?

for girls, the schools in 2CS that we would have considered were Bt Timah Pri and Marymount Convent. However Marymount had v few places left in 2CS last yr. Obviously it went into a ballot situation in 2CS. This year it will not even go into 2CS as the TUR at 2C will already be 100%.
I am not familiar with the stats at Bt Timah Pri right now but I think it should go into 2CS. But don’t forget all those parents from Pei Hua, MGS, NYPS, RGPS etc that fail at 2C will also be eyeing Bt Timah Primary in 2CS as it is a co-ed sch.
I know someone who balloted out of SCGS in 2C, balloted out at Marymount in 2CS and in the end went to Balestier Hill Pri Sch. I feel this could be the reality for most parents if u fail to get a place in 2C, except this year even the 2CS schools are fewer. Many parents have chosen not to take risks I guess.

Last yr, all the 50 SCGS 2C parents were SC within 1 km. Go figure!
Good luck in making your decision. To me, your decision is not THAT tough as you already have a place in 2B! -
Yes we were lucky last year. 50 ppl balloting for 29 places. We were the 8th to be pickedbought the place opp SCGS hoping for a chance at the school within 1km... who knows the seats are mostly snapped up at the earlier stages... sigh... this school did not even have to ballot within 1km few years back...

so did you get in SCGS in the end?2hotTOhandle:
i stay within 1km from SCGS but already feel that i have no chance... PV at another school and thinking want to give SCGS a try or not...
later cannot get in how? give up chance at phase 2B and cant get in SCGS at phase 2C... jia lat...
Not sure why you would give up a bird in hand, esp if you have put in PV hours. at the end of the day, you would have to consider the likelihood of going into P2CS. If you can live with the schs in P2CS (not many), then try balloting at SCGS.
I went through this last yr, so I know how you feel. But if I had already registered in 2B in a reasonably good sch, I would not give that up to ballot for 2C SCGS.
But that's just me! maybe you are the gambling sort! And if SCGS is truly your sch of choice, place your DD on waitlist in SCGS.
I understand your dilemma. It's not easy to come to a decision! Many of us were choosing between Smps and scgs last year. The odds were much better at smps in 2C. I know some crossed over to smps in the end as they didn't want to ballot at scgs. Monitor the stats till day 3 before you make your final decision. -
