Oh I can't agree more with Ohdaddy. Initially we tried registering our dd for SCGS given that it is within walking distance. It happened that for that year, we were booted out during the inaugrual balloting for Phase 2C as there were many PRs who lived within 1km of the school then. Our hearts dropped when we heard that our dd was not selected. We then went straight to Marymount to register her in Phase 2C supplementary. With no regrets. Dd is now thriving very well, better than some SCGS girls of her age. MCS has lived up to its name to groom girls to become ladies of grace. So, do not think that only pupils of elite schools can excel. We should groom our daughters not just academically but holistically be a all rounder. MCS is one such good schools.

I can't think of more reasons why the intake is low for MCS other than there's no affiliation to secondary schools and of course there aren't many young families within 1km of school compound. I may be wrong here. But just look at Braderell Heights and you will know what I mean.

Hope the above is useful. Always believe that your dd can do well and the school is just there to facilitate the learning journey.
Thanks to both hoylj and Ohdaddy! We just want our child to have a holistic education and fun learning environment rather than just focusing on academics. Always knew, focusing 100% on academic is NOT the best way to educate a child. A child does need exposure in all aspects and build the necessary foundation to move on and adapt to todays' complex society.

We have finally decided to withdraw our daughter's registration from our first choice school to MCS. I hope with the new ruling in place, my daughter can still get in to MCS without having to go through balloting, since we are PR.

If my daughter does get in to MCS during this phrase, I would love to get to know the other parents and learn more about the school and what we should look out for, since it is our first year enrolling our daughter to a local primary school. πŸ™‚

thanks again for all your comments and advises!

                    Hi all,

I have called e sch regarding the change in upgrading plans. Yes it has been confirmed on e holding site (1st Toa Payoh). However MCS can't confirm on when ey r gg single session as ey r not sure if the holding site has enough capacity. :scratchhead:

For parents wif kids in student care like myself, e student care can't b sure ey r moving together wif MCS to e holding site. E person in charge juz mentioned tat most likely ey will move whr e sch is. :nailbite:

These r some uncertainties which parents may wish to take note of.
