      Tinkerbelle:

      Hi Tinkerbelle,

Oh I didn't know parents can stay in the foyer and canteen. I am so glad to hear that. πŸ™‚ But is it just only allowed on the first day of school? And is it true that parents can be at the canteen during their recess time?

How about coming back home? Does my girl needs to go look for the school bus herself or there will be pple assisting her. I hope she don't take the wrong bus or worse miss the bus.

      Hi jessie & cantbearit2,
Actually, P1 parents are only suppose to be at the foyer before sch starts on the 1st day, but last year, some parents were still hanging around on the 3rd day. By then, would have overstayed the welcome and the sch's staff will invite you to leave.
Access to the canteen for parents is only during recess time for the 1st day. Similarly, last year, some parents were there for the 1st 3 days.

Personally, I only went to sch on the 1st day with DD2 last year for moral support and did not linger around for too long as DD2 is quite sticky and I didn't want her to keep looking out for me. Just told her sch does not allow and I had to leave (but secretly still around for a while longer...lol). I didn't go back during recess as I knew she would be in good the hands of her P5 buddy.

As for sch dismissal for the first few days, gals who are taking sch buses will be dismissed first. Do ensure your DDs know that they are taking the sch bus home and what bus number they are taking.
During sch dismissal at the parade ground, the teachers will ask who is going home by bus and who is being fetched by parents. The teacher will then announce the bus numbers via loud speaker/PA system. Your DD must pay attention to the bus numbers when they are being called out. She is to stand up when her bus number is being called out and someone will lead her to the right bus. Hence, it is crucial the gals stand up for the right buses. At this stage, the gals are not expected to look out for their own sch buses. Hope this allay your anxiety somewhat. πŸ˜„

      hi
is the above dismissal system still used currently?
i m afraid my DD will miss out the announcement as she is quite talkative when in a group of friends.
      scared bus leave without her.

Hi, I am new to this forum. My gal will be in P1 next year and she will be travelling from Hougang. Any idea when should we start to contact the school bus operators to arrange for transport? Is it true that there is only one bus for each area? Thanks.

            Contact Irene: 9067 4556
I think Hougang is about $130
Can start contacting her. Be specific with pick up address. Eg: say u stay Blk 1 at Hougang Ave 11. Just let her know your Blk. Do not say Hougang area because Hougang area is so wide. She needs to plan her route. Irene is in charge of Hougang route.

Parents should start contacting bus driver to reserve the bus seat now.
The timing cannot be confirmed at this moment but it's estimated to be pick up time at Hougang to be 10 something in morning.

Bus drivers are quite polite when I converse with them.
