      Hi, my son is currently enrolled in Chongfu School. It is a brilliant school. But I intend to enrol my daughter in an all girls school in 2025 because I believe she would thrive there. We live in Yishun. I have heard many good things about MCS. Can someone share with me more about MCS, the school culture and whether it is worth sending my girl all the way from Yishun? Thanks in advance!

        I suppose the real question is how are you going to handle the logistics? Are you going to send him and her yourselves by car or are you getting the school bus? Public transport is likely to be very challenging as your son will either end up very early or your daughter will end up very late.

          Hi Floppy,

          My son is already in Chongfu - he travels by school bus. The pick up timing is around 6.40am. For my daughter, if she gets into MCS, then she would take the school bus too.

            Just call up school bus driver in Marymount primary, ask the driver : what time this year (2024) do u pick up students from Yishun to Marymount, if you intend to register your girl for 2025 P1 intake ?

            If u can accept the timing for sch bus to fetch your daughter from Yishun, after speaking to (clarifying) the sch bus driver, can consider Marymount. Otherwise, stay put inside Chong fu. You can readily register your daughter under Phase 1 sibling, into Chongfu.

            Both Chongfu & Marymount are not affliated to any Secondary school. Apart from being an all Girls school, no distinct advantage. Unless your daughter herself desire some special, unique particular Cca so much that only Marymount can offer, which Chongfu doesn't.

            By the way, not sure whether got any school bus go to your place in Yishun, in the first case. Safest to clarify these facts first, yourself. Don't just assume that sure got school bus go to Yishun there.

            Unless you (parent) are going to chauffer (drive) your daughter to Marymount every day from Monday to Friday, for the next 6 years ahead, from years (2025 P1 all the way to 2030 P6) , come rain or shine, everyday.

            =========================

            How to get to know the school (Marymount) better or is it the right fit, for your daughter ?

            2 ways

            1)
            stand at entrance of the school gate everyday without fail patiently, when school is dismissed daily around 1.30 pm. Try to make friends, talk to parents / grand parents standing at the gate entrance ... awaiting to fetch their children home, after school been dismissed.

            Or

            2)
            book an appointment with the Vice Principal, visit the school premises to take a good look at the school, observe how the students behave, etc. And ask the VP the list of all the \"burning\" questions inside you, which u have. From there, u will experience personally, have the feel (vibe) of Marymount primary.

            Marymount primary office school telephone number, is here.

            The girls' green colored uniform, is sweet looking, very pleasant.

              Even it easier for your DD just to stay in Chongfu so that she and your son can share the same primary school memories? She can even get in via Phase 1.
