Any idea how the children are streamed into P3?

According to my understanding there's no streaming at P2 for P3 classes... not academically but based on CCA? Somehow I hv this impression, pls correct me if I m wrong.

Yes, Pei Chun used to stream the "better academic" P2 kids into better class of 3E in the past. But from last year onwards for year 2012 P3 students, they don’t do it anymore. Now it’s a mixture of all types of academic students in each class. But they still allocate the students according to CCA.

I heard that they reshuffle the kids with same cca in same class so that teacher can arrange for

Revision class easier if the kids misses class due to cca needs…

Oh I see... so exactly when are the kids going to stream according to academic results?

My chid did not select any CCA, thus wonder how they would stream the kids that did not select to enrol in any CCA that they requested previously.

1) Pei Chun does not stream students according to academic results except for students taking CCA.


2) They have sports class with students taking volleyball and basketball together. Class with students taking choir and chinese orchestra together.

For eg, my elderest daughter was taking volleyball, she was posted to P3H, which is a sports class.
My second son did not take any CCA then but was posted to P3E. At that time time, Pei Chun still stream students according to academic and P3E was one of the better classes.
But effective from last year, they put in a mixture of students all not taking CCA, irregardless of good or bad results into the same class. Thus my youngest son was posted to P3D and all the students in his class are not taking any CCA. And they also started not revealing which students was 1st, 2nd or third positions in class.
