Pei Chun Public

Ok now we have a better picture... Am not going to make any judgements as to whether such arrangement is good or not but am just wondering why Pei Chun is not streaming the kids academically, like many other schools?1) Pei Chun does not stream students according to academic results except for students taking CCA.
2) They have sports class with students taking volleyball and basketball together. Class with students taking choir and chinese orchestra together.
For eg, my elderest daughter was taking volleyball, she was posted to P3H, which is a sports class.
My second son did not take any CCA then but was posted to P3E. At that time time, Pei Chun still stream students according to academic and P3E was one of the better classes.
But effective from last year, they put in a mixture of students all not taking CCA, irregardless of good or bad results into the same class. Thus my youngest son was posted to P3D and all the students in his class are not taking any CCA. And they also started not revealing which students was 1st, 2nd or third positions in class.

btw, my girl told me that her PE teacher said that she can play the volleyball quite well but nothing is mentioned about taking up that sports as a CCA… how do parents get in touch with teachers to enquire more?

Actually it’s the volleyball coach that will decide whether your child will be selected for volleyball as a CCA. Anyway, the selection should have been completed by now and if I remember correctly, you will receive a letter from the school whether he/she is selected or not, maybe in Oct.
You may want to contact the teacher directly to find out whether your child is already selected to take volleyball. -
But from p5 onwards, students are streamed according to academic results. thus p5a will be the best class. even if u hv cca , u are still in P5a and not sports class.

Oh you mean the kids are not allowed to choose volleyball as a CCA unless they are being selected?? A bit puzzling... so I think that goes for the basketball too? My girl has chosen Chinese Orchestra but she is also keen in the basketball or volleyball too... ok let me call the school to speak to the teacher directly. The selection for basketball and volleyball will be conducted this term... it's either you \"have talent\" and be selected into the school team directly or you can opt to join it as a CCA... -
Thanks Callie, appreciate the info. I was about to call for an update too.
Anyone knows if Wushu can be taken as a CCA, if not chosen as school team?
