Hi maltbibi, yes they will continue their flag duties in p2. My boy told me that its just learning from the p2 for now and practicing. They have not lower the flag in the dismissal ceremonies yet. They will continue this in p2 and move on to prefects. Towards end of the year next year, they will teach the p1 like what they are experiencing now. This was what I gathered from my son’s FT.

Hi minmin27
Thanks for the information.
Just PM you. -
anyone able to recommend me a good maths tutor or tution class?
-
Hi,
Have a P1 son, not having any tuition yet as I feel sorry that we are drilling so hard on them. I told him to pay attention in class or else he will have to go for extra lessons on sat or sun while others are enjoying family/play time. He has 2 fear, STUDY AND SLEEP.
His results so far all band 1 so shud be reasonable la. we have consensus that he doesn’t need to be top but must not be behind his peers. In fact, work life is more than just academics. Can I check with mummies having children doing flag duties, are your Children doing well in sch? Good in studies or behaviour? Understand only one chosen from each class n how and who selected em? Good to share with those who.want their children to be chosen when they enter P1 next year… -

I seriously don't think \"ignorance is a bliss\" works well for school-parents communication.S'times the so-called \"lack of communication\" may be a deliberate act.. e.g. Art Talent Programme brot up by Mummy Tang, which is certainly sth new to alot of us here, may not be meant to be communicated to the parents in the 1st place... perhaps for the fear of \"uproar/complaints\" by parents whose kids are not selected....
One of teachers' top fears is parents' complaints... less noise from parents = less troubles for them?!.. :scratchhead:
Anyway really thankful and glad to find selfless parents sharing valuable information here.....if not, seriously i dont know how to get instant answers/info, except during desperate times, i reluctantly pickup e phone & call my DS's FT who always does not sound too pleased to hear from me..... -
Am thinking of the logistics issues for my girl who is P3 next year… Can P3 & above parents share their arrangements?
We are staying in Bishan… so I think we will do without school bus starting next year because not too sure what time the school bus is going to pick her up. If too early then I rather send her to school myself. Any parents staying in Bishan can share?
And for all the CCAs and HCL and AS, I think my girl has to stay in school 4 out of 5 days… so she also cannot take school bus back… Can I check do the P3 parents pick their kids up every afternoon?? I think the P3 is still slightly too young to take a bus back home…
Am i worrying too much? -

We are staying at senett estate, though not very far from Toa Payoh, just 10 mins drive to TP, the school bus comes at 6a.m. to pick my DS. So we resorted to sending him to school in the morning to let poor boy has a bit more sleep.Am thinking of the logistics issues for my girl who is P3 next year... There is an extra bus service on every friday when they have HCL. We have to top up $4 for every Friday trip. The rest of the days, no school bus plys our route after his activities so we have to find our ways to pick him after the CCAs. Not sure about Bishan area. You should check with the bus vendor. What I understand is that they could stay in school after their activities and hop on the evening bus for the afternoon session, which means that they will be in school for the whole day. -
Is there any criteria to enrol my DD to Chinese Orchestra.
Does she need to have any music qualification in order to enrol. -

Thanks!! If there is an extra bus service on friday after the HCL it would be great!! Don't think my girl will follow the evening school bus back because it is going to be too late... Think the amount of time left for revision and rest starting next year...
