Hi all, I read on the MOE website that if my child scored B and C at standard level at PSLE, she can choose to take the these subjects at NA level.

My question is - will she be given this option upon the enrolment into Sec 1 (NT) when she reports to her secondary school or she has to do well in the school-based exams to be given the choice to those subjects at NA level.

1) Seems like PCPS would relocate to holding site sometime in 2016 (probably to start
the academic year 2016?). Seems like school upgrading would take abt 2 years to
complete.... Is this right ?

2) PCPS being a SAP school, means Higher Chinese is offered at P1. What if child cant
handle Higher Chinese? Can child drop out of Higher Chinese & do \"Normal\"
Chinese instead?

Hi I would like to understand when this say relocation does it meant permanently or temp till the existing school is ready?

Yes, HCL is offered from P1 to P4. There is no opt in or opt out during these 4 years. In fact, HCL offered during these 4 years are pretty similar to normal chinese. For HCL, there are additional two more passages at the end of each chapter in the Chinese textbooks.

Only at P5 and P6, they are then allowed to opt out of HCL.

I will be Orlando too from 23 Nov to 4 Dec. Will also be spending two nights in Miami and driving up to Keywest.

Hi, anyone been to the Lancelin for sand boarding? Is it safe to sand board there because I read that there are many 4 wheelers around on the sand dune so may not be safe for children. Just like to check if anyone here has an experience to share.

Dear Parents, my younger child just started P1 last week. She has settled down very quickly but I am concerned with the classroom seating arrangement. Being a year end child, my girl is really small build but the strange thing is, the form teacher assigned her a seat at the last row. My girl told me she can't see the writing on the board as her classmates in front are very tall. I realise there are another 3 - 4 petite size kids also sitting right behind whereas most of the taller and bigger kids are in front. This is totally weird because in my elder's child school, teacher arrange them by height (except a few with some work or behavior problems and teachers need to have them seated in front, at the side). Isn't this simple, basic logic? Do you think it is fine for me to request the teacher to change her place?

Perfectly fine to check with the teacher what is her reason for assigning the smaller size children to last row. You may want to hear her out first and then raise your concern to her. I did that for P4 son last year when he was placed at the last row and was v hot. He was perspiring at the start of the morning and could not concentrate in class, hence I requested the FT to do a change too.

MAS is running a promo now @$670, with 1 hour transit time in KL. Touch down Narita in the morning around 7+a.m. similar to SQ which touch down 6plus in the morning.
