Both my P1 and P4 told me that they are to wear their school uniform or PE attire unless the child has been selected to represent their class in some fashion parade in their CNY attire.
I also told by my children that each class will only have one boy and one girl representing the class. So the rest must be in uniforms for tomorrow.
In the past, they are allowed to be CNY attire for the CNY celebration. -
lag:
Hi Lag, my DS also in P4. What i understand is they use the mini bus hence that explains why the bus has to make two trips. My DS is also on the second trip so I resort to having my maid to fetch my DS so that he can reach home earlier.DS in p4 this yr and every tuesday he needs to stay back for AS which ends at 3.30pm.. we are both working parents therefore he has been taking the school bus since p1..
I was told by my mum that DS reach home at 5pm yesterday..After checking with DS I realise that there is only 2 school bus to cater for all the P4 that are taking AS..and my DS school bus need to make 2 trips. He belongs to the 2nd trip which means from 3.30pm to 4.15pm..he is playing happily in school while waiting for the sch bus!! There are abt 12 students that are taking the same school bus as my kid..
sigh..i dont want to sound like a protective parent and question the sch regarding this..but then i dont feel comfortable knowing that from 3.30pm to 4.15pm there is totally no one who knows the whereabout of my son ( or the 11 students that are in the same sch bus ).. what if something happen to him between this timing? who is responsible for it? Do you think it is possible to have a teacher to keep an eye on the 12 students..maybe keep them in the classroom or whatsoever..let them do some work or read some books rather than running all over the place?
I check with my ds.. this \"coming home at 5pm\" every tuesday will continue until the rest of the year..
parents.any suggestions? -
Ds came back to say tomorrow confirm sch uniform…
Just got him new cny costume for the occasion since he outgrow…sad…cannot wear…hah -
I also get so confused. Last week DS said can wear CNY clothes but yesterday, he said the teacher told them to wear school uniform. Is simple, straight forward instruction like this so difficult to communicate?? Why don't the school just let all students wear the CNY costume?! -
My girl didn’t have problem with the communication abt what to wear for tmr. She knew clearly that they need to wear PE uniform except for those on fashion parade.

I went back to school today, seemed that only Lower Primary were allowed to wear CNY clothes.

Hi,
May i know if anyone has unwanted PE shorts size 28 or 30 to pass down? Please drop me a mail. Many many thanks. -
Form Teacher advised us that the kids are allowed to wear CNY clothes on 8th Feb for celebration via e-mail a week before............. but on wed, two days before the celebration day for CNY, my chid wrote in the student diary that they are to wear school uniform
Guess, the teachers wanted the students to enjoy and have fun but were informed later by the School Admin that its not allowed! Wonder what's the reason behind this............:( Only two students per class is allowed to wear CNY clothes as they represent the class for the cat walk, fashion parade!
Personally, I find it strange that a Chinese school not allowing the kids to come in their CNY traditional/ celebration clothes to celebrate the festive of Chinese New Year! Wonder who set this rule this year! I remember last year and all the past years, the kids are allowed to come in their celebration clothings........... Am disappointed with this change

yes, in the past years all the students were allowed to wear CNY clothes on CNY eve when they have no lessons and purely a few hours to celebrate CNY.
The change this year I supposed its because 8 Feb was not CNY eve, and school hours are the usual hours. So some classes will still have PE lessons and it would be uncomfortable for the students to be in CNY clothes. That’s what I deduced. -
anyone send their kids to the Young Prodigy Learning Centre at Toa Payoh Centre? Any feedback?
