love1001:
Dear Parents, my younger child just started P1 last week. She has settled down very quickly but I am concerned with the classroom seating arrangement. Being a year end child, my girl is really small build but the strange thing is, the form teacher assigned her a seat at the last row. My girl told me she can't see the writing on the board as her classmates in front are very tall. I realise there are another 3 - 4 petite size kids also sitting right behind whereas most of the taller and bigger kids are in front. This is totally weird because in my elder's child school, teacher arrange them by height (except a few with some work or behavior problems and teachers need to have them seated in front, at the side). Isn't this simple, basic logic? Do you think it is fine for me to request the teacher to change her place?
Perfectly fine to check with the teacher what is her reason for assigning the smaller size children to last row. You may want to hear her out first and then raise your concern to her. I did that for P4 son last year when he was placed at the last row and was v hot. He was perspiring at the start of the morning and could not concentrate in class, hence I requested the FT to do a change too. -
Thank you Buba and iluvjr2. I have feedback to the teacher and her reply was that she did not realise that my girl is small and short. Anyway, she will try to change the seat. Conclusion is, I do not think it is due to blindspot but teacher is really a bit blind or maybe still living in some lalaland, holiday not over yet?!
Though I am not a teacher, this is just common sense, I feel. Get the students to lineup from shortest to tallest then assign accordingly. Short one sits in front and taller ones behind. Is this really such a difficult task? I observed that most lower Primary teachers look very young and inexperience. :xedfingers: that they can teach and manage the class well. -
I may not be able to attend this Sat level briefing. Does anyone knows if the presentation slides will be uploaded in the school’s website?

Should be uploaded as in previous years. -

The P1 level master has sent email to parents yesterday. If you are unable attend, email or call your child's form teacher to request for a copy of the briefing materials. HTH

I have a question. Is it legal to park outside the school along the roads while sending and fetching the kids?
-
Hello,
My kid is in p4. Last year-end, he was interviewed to be a prefect. The outcome is supposed to be made known this year. May I know if anyone has any news on this? TIA. -
Hello Buba,
I am one of those who always park along the kerb outside the school. Not legal since double yellow line. Have also seen LTA officers at the section near the bus stop. However, quick pick-up should b fine. And do not stop near bus stop. -
