Hi FreesiasHi Freesias
Thanks for the info. I went to the Student Care at Blk 45 and did not find it condusive for study. It is too crowded and noisy. Btw, is there a lot of homework for P1 at Pei Chun ? My son will not have the energy to do much homework in the evening. This means I will not have much visibility when he does the homework at the Student Care.
It is really tough to find a good student care in the Serangoon / Toa Payoh / Bishan / AMK area. Sigh ! I wish I could quit my job and be at home to look after and coach my son.
Kids are P1 and P2 don't have much homework, so you don't have to worry about this part. Good luck for your search of student care! -

Is it on first come first serve system? Or based on merit??
Hi Callie, not too sure on this thou. Call the school to check out and also any avail vacancies currently. Wish you good luck.marmum:
Can any parent enlighten me how the waiting list in Pei Chun works?? I am intending to put my girl on waiting list... thanks in advance.
Heard from a neighbour that last year, she put her girl on wait list and was informed only during the last week in Dec that there are a number of vacancies available. -
Any advise on what are the before school care centres near the school and whether the school have before school care service themselves?
Also, what is modular assessments for P1 like? Do you think kids can still go for enrichment classes after a long day at school if its like 7.30 to 9.30pm once a week? Is it necessary to send kids to English, Maths and Chinese tution in P1? What is the required standard or level for P1?
Looking forward to the orientation on 29th Dec. -

Since there is no exam in P1, you may wish to wait and see before deciding if your child needs any enrichment classes. The school's parent committee organises enrichment classes which are held in school on Saturdays, so it's another option for you to consider. -
I considered myself "old" as my daughter just graduated from P6 this year and my second child / son is transferred to Catholic High next year for his GEP. Now I am left with 1 last son who is going to be P2 next year.
Ready to help if anyone needs help.
BTW I became a SAHM mom this March to concentrate on my kids’ studies and also my maid left too.
Good lucky to parents whose kids are starting P1 net year. I am sure your kids will enjoy themselves. I am sure my kids definitely did !

Hi anyone know where is the PC old sport hall ? Is it the one above their canteen ?
-
The old sports hall is the one next to the HSR office, or u can say next to the new sports hall. If u drive along lor 6, its diagonally facing the caltex petrol kiosk. It has metal roller shutter.
