      Hi Sean Wife,

Yes, AA tests usually cover listening comprehension, picture description, reading a passage or oral (conversation).

Undoubtedly, oral conversation and picture description are the weakest area for most of our "potato kids".

Each AA is 10% of the total score. I am happy when my DS gets 8% - 9%. It is definitely not easy to score very high as our school is a SAP school and expectation and the standard is there.

Hi thanks for all the replies mummies…yes my kid is also weaker in oral than written. She didn’t do quite well for her last semester picture description even though I did go through some practice with her. I think it kind of dented her confidence and she has been showing resistance when I try to get her to do more practice. Conversely her twin sister can do it quite effortlessly even though both are just as ‘potato’…I think it’s just an inborne trait. I dread to think how to gear her up for the oral conversation part…

          In P3 SA2 Chinese, oral take up 16%, and compo 20%, while paper2 60%.

So oral+compo itself take up 40%. [oral only comes in SA2]

Its better to get ready earlier becos speaking can’t be improved overnight. I tried my best to speak to my kids in chinese and i think it improves somehow…and we try to practise some oral topics either based on ref book or from the newspaper they get from school. The newspaper has got the perfect answer, can also be used in compo.and we learnt a lot from there…

By the way, anyone can share how is PCPS PSLE result this year?

I heard from my sis said this year PC is performed quite well compared to last year. 7 students scored 4A* and overall 100% pass. No idea on the scored point.

                Hi Precious050911,

Yes, that is technically correct. But there are exceptions which includes the following:

                1. Teacher changes appointment to MOE HQ
                2. Teacher changes service scheme (eg, head-hunted)
                3. Teacher changes school
                4. Teacher goes on course
                5. Teacher leaves the service

                I hope this helps you.

                :B

We’ve been informed to attend PSG interview with our DD. Can anyone advise what to expect during interview? Thanks in advance.

I am desperately searching for a Student Care Centre for my PCPS P2 DD in Bishan/TPY area. However, most of the centers that I have contacted only cater for students from schools which are operating single session.

Please kindly share with me if you know of any Student Care in Bishan/TPY which still runs in the morning offering Before-school Care service. Need to enrol my DD before school re-opens in Jan2015. *Desperate and helpless* 🙏

                      TIA!
