      Thanks Floppy.
i fully understand the risk, but based on the historical record, seems there are higher chance than Maris Stella?
Maris Stella would be a safer bet for you.

PCPS has been one of those schools affected by Singapore demographics - aging population, aging estate, etc. Hence, it is losing its 'popularity' because there are less eligible applicants in the earlier phase. PCPS has no clan / religious groups affiliation, only PV and GRL (who are likely to be very old in an old estate). However, with Woodleigh and some renewal to Toa Payoh, I suspect PCPS 'popularity' will gather steam again - which means a return to possible balloting, be it 1 to 2km or > 2km in Phase 2B, especially with PV and GRL from Woodleigh joining in.

MSHS, on the other hand, has only faced ballot > 2km in Phase 2B and never for 1 to 2km or < 2km. While that may change with Woodleigh and renewal to Toa Payoh, I doubt MSHS will have to ballot < 1km - which is where Woodleigh (< 1km) has the advantage. In the unlikely event that there's ballot < 1km (highly doubt it), you will still have a fighting chance. Plus MSHS max applicants can only be made up of half the population, until they decide to admit girls one day.

                BePersevere:
Dear Parents, this year performance is exceptional! My son is from a below average class. There is no way he is able to DSA because his results is always around low 60%, sometimes even lower. I am so grateful and unbelievable that he took back a 24x, giving him a wider choices of secondary schools. It was just like a dream.

Many students did not even do well in the Prelim and top school papers vendor even rated our school prelim papers as 'super easy'. This is demoralizing for many. Super easy papers yet the prelim results are horrible? How to sit for PSLE in a few weeks time?

Apart from the 70 students who got above 250, many students from average classes did well, with score greater than 240, some even did better than students from A and B classes. With hard work and determination, regardless which class you are in, it is possible for you to do well and I wish next year P6 all the best. You can do it too.

Nevertheless, this good showing is also because parents are investing more $$$ in tuition and I do not think I need to elaborate why the need to do so. Many parents already knew the changes that happened throughout this year, sending cold chill down our spine. It is finally over now.
Hi BePerserve, tried to pm you but the msg is not going through. Can you please pm me? Thanks.

Hi, any parents know if the homework board is still being updated? It is extremely empty. I wonder if the teachers are still updating or really no homework and still so relax? I randomly looked at the P6 classes and they too, have very little work. Oh my goodness! Kind of strange and worrying because it is already Semester 2. My P5 told me most of her classmates also already completed in class but homework that can be completed in class in between lessons is not a homework at all.

on MOE website it says PCPS going partial single session in 2019.

Like to check with parents here if they aware PCPS going full single session in 2020?

My kids' HW boards get updated everyday. Usually if the kid cannot complete the work on time during curriculum time, then they will bring the work home.

For this year’s P1 registration, balloting is required for old students under Phase 2A2!

Don’t think this ever happened in recent history. I guess this is partly due to the fact that the overall enrolment number has been reducing as well.
                        All the best!
