Hope to get some inputs from here. my son was born in year 2014 and i’m targeting Maris Stella Primary. i have my new BTO at Woodleigh Glen.
As i contacted Maris Stella they do not accept PV years back, so i can only join CC volunteer to be eligible under P2B.

May i know Maris Stella is fall under which GRC and which the CC i should join?
How to become EM? if not EM can i get the endorsement letter?

if i join GRC now, do you think sufficient time for me to become EM?

Compare to Pei Chun, which they accept PV, do you think is higher chance to fall under P2B?

Heard that some school with have SCC but the priority is given to low income family, wonder if all in school SCC apply the same rules?

Maris Stella would be a safer bet for you.

PCPS has been one of those schools affected by Singapore demographics - aging population, aging estate, etc. Hence, it is losing its 'popularity' because there are less eligible applicants in the earlier phase. PCPS has no clan / religious groups affiliation, only PV and GRL (who are likely to be very old in an old estate). However, with Woodleigh and some renewal to Toa Payoh, I suspect PCPS 'popularity' will gather steam again - which means a return to possible balloting, be it 1 to 2km or > 2km in Phase 2B, especially with PV and GRL from Woodleigh joining in.

MSHS, on the other hand, has only faced ballot > 2km in Phase 2B and never for 1 to 2km or < 2km. While that may change with Woodleigh and renewal to Toa Payoh, I doubt MSHS will have to ballot < 1km - which is where Woodleigh (< 1km) has the advantage. In the unlikely event that there's ballot < 1km (highly doubt it), you will still have a fighting chance. Plus MSHS max applicants can only be made up of half the population, until they decide to admit girls one day.

No one knows whether there is a chance for you if you manage to join the parent volunteer scheme at PCPS. That's because no one can predict the take up for Phase 1, or the number of alumni applicants in Phase 2A1 and 2A2, and the number of applicants, such as GRL, in Phase 2B.

Given that PCPS has balloting for 1-2km in Phase 2B (though not in the last 2-3 years), there is a risk you have to assume if the new BTO is > 2km.

Haha… I think you misread my post. It’s PLMGS at Lor Ah Soo, not the MGS at Blackmore Dr.

2 years before registration, call up the admin office to check if they take in PVs. Then get the PV form and apply. That will enable you to register at Phase 2B.[/quote]

would you have any idea if i join the RC at my current residence area (Woodlands), can the membership transfer to Woodleigh after i move over?

Other girl's schools include the CHIJ at Serangoon Gardens, or CHIJ Toa Payoh.


If you're looking at co-ed schools, can look at the ones in Toa Payoh area like Pei Chun or Kheng Cheng, or even other areas like Geylang Methodist Primary.

All in all, depends if you're ok with your girl taking school bus to travel further, and if affiliation is a consideration for you.

Maybe you can share some other information as well, like year your gal will be entering P1 so that forumners here can help you better.
