Hi Precious050911, hee… i wanted to find out more, thats why I called the teacher and was shocked to know that they have to stay back for remedial for all subjects. I was also wondering how I am going to arrange transport as I am worried that my boy cant take public transport on his own.

Hi iLoveChubby, which bus vendor is that and what time do they ferry the kids back home? I stay in toa payoh, so this transport arrangement is helpful for me though they charge per trip basis.

Hi Lionqueen, i dont think it is based on iCAS as my boy’s ICAS results are not great. I am pretty curious how the kids are selected as well as my boy said that there are many others in class which are smart too.

Currently for P3, if your kid is in normal CCA (not niche), there are 3 days they need to stay back :

Tue up to 330pm : Academic Support Programme (1 hr English + 1 hr Maths/Maths Olympiad) - Compulsory for all
Wed :up to 130pm : Normal CCA (1 hr) ==> However depends on certain CCAs, maybe different days/timing
Fri up to 330pm : HCL class (2 hrs) - Compulsory for all

If you stay nearby (TP/Bishan etc), they will have a small van to transport your kids back and you pay by per trip.
But not sure for further locations. I heard they charge really high (eg $10/trip for as far as punggol) or they do not send at all.
Another option is to place them in the student care centre until they follow the evening bus (pm session) back home.[/quote]

Thanks for the feedback…i’m really really surprised remedial for all 3 subjects for all students…
yes yes, I also need the contact for the bus transport…
and then tat is I should not consider niche CCA at all with all the remedial class…in case more time needed…(although dunno can get in or not)

Actually the maths remedial class, all p3 and above had to attend, regardless of their results. I talked to one of teachers. She said it is because many parents complain that their kids shd have more remedial class, so that their kids dun hav to go tuition, n comparing wif nanyang primary sch.

My boy told me, all students had been segregated into 3 categories. High, medium and low competency, so that the teachers knew how to target slower kids.

N hereby, I wish to express my greatest gratitude to 2 very kind mummies here, Ilovechubby and callie. One who had helped me to search for exam papers and even photostat for me. Another oso wanted to help me ask her kid’s classmate for the papers. At first, I felt so helpless and lost. Then I try my luck here. Thank god. Many kind people in this forum. Pcps mummies, daddies, hiphiphorray. Lets keep this spirit going n going.

Whatever may be, I hope that our children not only excel in their studies but more importantly, be taught the right moral values in PCPS too, cheers.

For school bus to fetch your kids home after remedial/CCAs, you can call Bus 13 Andy 9674 4474. He will make arrangements.

                  http://www.peichunpublic.moe.edu.sg/images/School%20Bus%20Guide%202013.pdf

                  $3 per trip.

Pick up at New Sports Hall.

Child pay as you board the bus but must call the driver in advance to inform your child is taking the bus.

Can I ask, do the kids in the same class in Primary 1 all get promoted to Primary 2, together with the same classmates?

Yes P1 & P2 in the same class. And in P3, they are streamed acc to CCA and remains in the same class for P4.
