Pooh Bear:
Hi Pooh Bear,Hi folks:
my DS is now in NUS High. Competition is much higher, well, that's expected. He has to strive to do his best, since I can't coach him anymore. Too difficult for me now.
My younger DS is also in Challenge class. Err...i don't know what's recipe to get into Challenge. I can only say that teachers count a lot in the final 100m dash. Can be pretty stressful for kids in P6. Lots of moral support needed. This year, the school has started Maths Olympia classes for selected kids. I am surprised since my older DS did not have such classes previously, whereas other schools already have such schemes. There are pros and cons in having such \"enrichment\" classes, which I have mixed feelings. Anyway younger DS enjoys it so I let it be. Ultimately we have to \"hear\" what the kids want and can do.
kekeeekee...i know your child is who. He's the only one in NUS high in debate team, rt? My DS know him. -
ADMPS going to go thru some upgrading works on their facilities...sounds good! :celebrate:

Hi
Do u guys know there is a new Primary School - Riverside Primary School at 110 Woodlands Crescent S(737803) near Admiralty Primary School. Starts in Jan 2013. -
Yes, heard about this school in the papers. Think it will take some load off the primary schools in Woodlands. From last year's results, seems like new schools are very popular these days. The new one in Jurong West even required balloting. Think it was Frontier Primary. I wonder how this one will perform. :scratchhead:

Just for info, they band base on English, one time in P3 base on p2 results and another time in P5 based on P4 results.....I only know when my son insoursop:
Wow! Poohbear! Your son did great! Congratulations! Which school is he in now? Yeah, I heard that for the top 2 classes, the teachers really 'chiong\" one. That's why I'm really hoping that DD gets into top 2 classes
Was it difficult to get into the Challenge class? If all the students get 25X then really the standard is good! I heard the new principal is very good :nunchuk: too compared to the ex-retiring principal cos already quite \"boh chap\" :siam:
P3 will be time where they band the kids. To get into challenging, say p5 challenging, it will be based on P4 results. P5 and p6, they will be in same class.
P5 after he drop class

My 2 kids @ Admiralty now, DS in P6 & DD in P2. They enjoy their school life there
. Compare to other year, P6 got a bit more home work but manageable, teacher are caring, anything u ask teacher response r quite fast. School teaching n exam papers has some standard. For CCA, may not have so many but there are enough CCA that kids can participate. I think start from P3, they have science project competition, Math, etc...I only know when ds bring back his prizes. School also support other sport player, although not official school CCA such as water polo. There is admiralty water polo boy team and play under school name and win a few prize. The team train under club. Ds also play soccer in school. I think 3 player from his soccer team selected for JCOE (Junior centre of excellence) include my ds. One of my bad exp was school uniform vendor, no uniform to attend school :siao: when my DD starting P1 :(. .... My ds is still enjoy playing although PSLE is coming...hope he can make it :xedfingers: .......Those parent look for bal study/play... can consider admiralty..... Hope these info are useful.
