Good luck to all those registering today! My boy is in SHPS and I would say its a pretty holistic school. But academic wise, its test/exam papers are pretty tough too. Homework alot at times and it irritates me cos my weekends are burnt doing homework. 😛

For those who like lots of parent teacher interaction, you will like the school. Form teachers give me their personal mobile and email add, call my house if I text them to ask on any assignments or homework, very very ON. I am one of those bochup parents so until now, I am still trying to get used to this style. Hahaha. Then every year, you must attend the PTM to collect the report book. They will not give it to the child. I find it very troublesome as I have to work and gotto take off just for a 10 mins session. :scratchhead:

Then again, most parents would appreciate the above. They also organise workshops and talks for parents during the year. And camps during the hols for the kids. Its parents' support group is very strong and I think its a good thing as at school event, there is definitely support for the kids.

Overall, I think its a pretty good school and discipline wise, its pretty strict. My boy had to write a 100 word essay cos he accidentally pushed someone down a short flight of stairs. No injuries but the teacher says he has to write what he did wrong and reflect on his actions. Thought its a good move to teach the child to be responsible for his actions. 🙂

Presume they are getting too many calls, response is hurried and could not probe further. I would love to have that details
