Looks like this is a new trend for primary schools. DS' primary school also renamed the same way. -
Hi, I am considering Chongfu for my two children. Can existing mommies/daddies with children share your experience please?
How are the teaching methods? Mainly classroom, or varied, i.e. creative teaching tools for young children to learn?
How much emphasis is on Chinese? Is higher chinese compulsory?
How’s the children in general? Are they all relatively well behaved, good manners, self-motivated?
How much homework is to be expected? Are the children stressed out?
Understand that it’s a million questions but I want to choose a good school that is compatible with my children without a lot of stress, hence, if any parents can share their experience, it would be great.
Many thanks. -

Are there any real changee after the school has changed name, or is it purely administrative? -
Not too sure. Maybe is purely administrative.

P1 to P4 will take higher chinese, P5 they will recommend or you can opt whether to take HMT. They'll also select around 20 plus students for BI cultural programme for P5 onwards.
Generally P1 to P3 quite relax. P4 so so. P5 onwards homework can be a lot. But I know of parents whose children are in the best class (although the principle insist there is no best class), they do homework till 12 midnight and need to drink chicken essence in the morning.
As for the kids behaviour, I can only say they are all normal kids, some are naughty some are good. Can't really generalise.
Hope I answered your questions. -
Dear parentof3,
Many thanks for your response. It’s from the parent’s experience that one can get a good understanding of the school.
much appreciated. Thanks -

Hi,
To future parents who want to consider registering their kids for Chongfu, we have this piece of experience to share.
My child is now in Pri 5 and every year, we thought the next year would be better but … sigh.
In Pri 1, we had a permanent teacher for the first half. followed by relief teacher for the second half.
In Pri 2, we had a chinese language teacher as form teacher and all other subjects taught by different teachers from other classes.
In Pri 3, we had a relief teacher for the first 3 months, followed by a permanent teacher for the next 3 months who is always on MC or urgent leave and finally another permanent teacher for the second half of the year.
Pri 4 was the best because we had a permanent teacher for the whole year for the first time.
In Pri 5, we had a trainee form teacher, trainee chinese language teacher and relief teacher for science.
Trust me that most of the horrid stories you hear about trainee and relief teachers are TOTALLY TRUE.
As for the ECAs, our only comment is that they have not changed since we parents were in primary school in the 70s.
We have decided that our second child will not be going to Chongfu but will settle for another neighbourhood school.
Just want to share this with you but ultimately the decision is still yours.
