My gal in p1 sincere too!!
Hi Liao,
How to earn the subscription for problemsum.com? -
LIAO:
suggest you sms the teachers to ask, sometimes they forgot. My girl in 1 sincere as well, teacher informed to bring those things white board scissors but not collected, my girl compained to me after school that she missed moral education book, is that my girl need to carry the rest of items daily after teacher collected the 1st day books?
Anyone know what is \"problemsum.com\", so expensive $100/year ... I don't want to pay for it, I want to earn it by myself.
Problemsum.com is an online assessment for maths. You can explore its website and look at the method of practice. It was helpful for my Dd but need to nag her to do. If your child does not have tuition and like the method, treat it as extra practice, it would not be expensive for a whole year. But if the child does not use, then, it will be a waste of money. -
I think it would be a waste of $ if your kids do not have time to practise the sums in problemsum.com. CFS already gives lots of hw and if you already have Maths assessment books/other school exam papers, my feel is that this problemsum.com might be underutilised.

How to get the form teacher's contact #,may wait for this friday on the parent's dialogue ... -
hi Parents ,
Recently the School Bookshop ran out of stocks for P5 assessment books , so with the book list i went to Popular book store to buy …
yes i managed … but at an extra cost of 3 more dollars …
Booklist states S$ 7.25 , Popular sold at S$10.25 ( why so much diff ? )
Next i proceeded to buy another assessment book from a neighbourhood bookstore ( bcoz Popular did not sell them )
this time the Bookstore sold the book at S$2.00 lower than the booklist !!!
S$ 7.25 and i bought at S$5.25 !!! ( why so much diff ? )
i asked the shop assistant if she had made a mistake about the prices …
she confirmed it was correct at S$ 5.25
Question : School Bookshops have the duty to be offering Students the best prices for all the items sold …
Prices should either be equal if not lower than what is sold outside …
But should never be higher …
Dunno if u have made comparisons ??? And what/s yr opinion about such cases ? -
LIAO:
Actually, the form teacher should give you his/her contact. If there is a breakout session during parent's dialogue, you will get to see the form teacher in the class. Otherwise can call the office to ask her to return call.Thank you, my worry is that my girl will not be take care her eyes, I want her to take less times on the computer, anyway they are still so youth.

Confirm with Sincere mummies, the following items are still not collected right?
- jotter book
- single-lined ex book for vocab
- mini whiteboard
- math ring file
- parents dialogue session reply slip
Sigh…why make them bring to school but don’t collect… -
tintin: I guess nowadays, there is no guarantee bookshop will sell lower price le. Or is just might be the bookshop u went has a special promotion? Which bookshop is that, can share? If they do sell the books at a more reasonable price, i would like to patronize them too.
btw, just got my kid’s timetable today, is full of abbreviations and no table to explain the abbreviations that i have to spend a lot of time to solve the puzzle.
i think CME = civil and moral education, HMT = H? Mother Tongue, SCI = Science, SS = Social Science, PE = Physical Exercise, Int GP = Interest Group.
still trying my luck at CT and EL_ICT… -
CME: Civics & Moral Education
HMT: Higher Mother Tongue
SS: Social Studies
PE: Physical Education
HE: Health Education
ICT: Infocomm Technology
CT: Contact Time (Teachers’ Meeting) - Pupils will remain in the hall for silent reading or some organized activities
Hmm…not very parent-friendly timetable, right? -
A bit shake when I saw the timetable, school just copy from 2011 term 2 … lucky finally received sms from the teacher that the Core Program will only started from next week.
Thanks to upstairs for detail explaining of the class short form.
