Kinderland

Hi,
Why do you concern that there is no homework. When they reach their primary school, they are given more homework then you will feel more pressure. Just my thought. -
ningy:
my only complain : not much homework.
Kindy got homework? :!: -
Homework so that parents can check if their kids understand their lessons and do the homework all on their own. The pace of kindergarten and P1 is so different that some kids in my DD2 P1 class are "shocked" by the sudden workload. My dd2 got homework every day on top of preparing for the english + chinese spellings (weekly) and also various mini tests (term 1 already got 2 chinese mini test, 1 chinese show and tell , 3 math minitests) !

My 2 older kids also went through MP Kinderland route and is now in P3 and P2. Yes, I have to agree that homework was minimal. Eg. Looking at my K1 now, she only has writing homework to do over the weekends.
I think it depends on primary school. My kids' primary school has minimal homework too..... They told me that they usually complete their homework in school so they don't have any. Yes there are Cl test from time to time but it's manageable. So our evening are spent on catching up on enrichment classes homework, learning spelling,etc... and assessment books. This is also the same for my P3. Homework appeared to be manageable though I had expected the honeymoon period to be over :?
Which school is your child in now? -
Dear members, anyone has feedback for the above?

Hello! I’m quite new to this forum. My child has recently started preschool at Kinderland Sunshine Place and I would like to find out if any other parents are in the same boat as us.
I have read some feedback on Kinderland SP at other posts but they are quite short and not really helpful.
As I am a FWTM, I’m not really hands-on and don’t have much time to visit the school and talk to the teachers myself. Thus would appreciate any additional info. To put things into better perspective, my child has some speech delay and so if I try to ask him how his day went at school, I can’t get much from him. Furthermore, he’s still learning basic life skills such as eating by himself and going to the potty, so he still wears nappies to preschool. I’d like to know if any parents here have any comments on their teachers and any experience on how your kids were handled by them.
Thanks much! -
Hi Fernvale,
There are a number of sch buses. At all times, there are usu 1 - 2 teachers in the class. I think you do not need more than 1 when the children get older. Anyway, in P1, there is only 1 teacher present. B4 my son joined Kinderland, in his previous sch, the assistant teacher did not do much, just sit around. There is no pt paying extra for a person to sit around, even the sch’s marketing sell its "usefulness". -

Hi Mummy MMM in particular & also other parents whose children have been to Kinderland program from K1 to K2,
I would like to find out more about
1) the Write to Read Reading Program at Kinderland.
Is it effective in enabling the child to read?
When does the program starts? from K1 onwards?
Are children who have been on this WTR program, able to read independently once they reach middle of K2 or earlier?
If yes, could you define the level of reading literacy. ie. able to read certain series of books (eg. peter & jane) at what level (eg. level 1, 2, etc).
2) the K2 teachers in Kinderland Pandan Valley, if they are warm and approachable & if the children there like them.
- in particular there is an plump Indian lady who teaches english to K2 & a chinese lady with long wavy hair who teaches chinese. Cant give more info as I do not have their names.
Would appreciate your feedbacks & comments. Thanks.
