    • RE: Mixed Expressive/Receptive Learning Disorder (MERLD)?

      cluelessmom:
Hi, hardworking_mom, maybe u can find out more at this link

      http://www.minddisorders.com/Kau-Nu/Mixed-receptive-expressive-language-disorder.html
I think it's good to seek a second opinion too..all the best...
Hi clueless mom, I read the link you gave and I think my 3-yr old has this disorder. Though he does not have any problems with understanding instructions, he is unable to express himself and resorts to hitting us in frustration when we can't figure out what he's trying to say 😢

We have been to an OT and ST at NUH CDU. Both of them don't really think my son's condition is critical, although i did sign him up for 4 sessions with the ST which will only start in June  I would like to know if there are any speech therapists who can work at home with us on a more regular basis than just once weekly, coz I think that's more effective and would probably see results faster.

      Cheers!

    • RE: Kinderland

Hello! I’m quite new to this forum. My child has recently started preschool at Kinderland Sunshine Place and I would like to find out if any other parents are in the same boat as us.

I have read some feedback on Kinderland SP at other posts but they are quite short and not really helpful.

As I am a FWTM, I’m not really hands-on and don’t have much time to visit the school and talk to the teachers myself. Thus would appreciate any additional info. To put things into better perspective, my child has some speech delay and so if I try to ask him how his day went at school, I can’t get much from him. Furthermore, he’s still learning basic life skills such as eating by himself and going to the potty, so he still wears nappies to preschool. I’d like to know if any parents here have any comments on their teachers and any experience on how your kids were handled by them.

      Thanks much!
