      Hi Felicia,

Thanks, I'll buy my girl normal white socks then. :imcool:

It's definitely not an easy decision on your part to be a sahm & I can empathise with the sacrifice & struggle. However, this may only be a transitional arrangement. You could consider returning to work when your children are older. After school care is a good option if you can find one which is convenient with minimal travelling time. As for tuition, it's quite common that parents can't teach their own children...so no worries at all. :rahrah:

Oh yes, did you buy the A3 art bag eventually? The one I saw at Popular is around $6+ which is about the same price as what the school bookshop offers. Really not sure if there's a need to buy the art bag or not. Maybe, kiv 1st. πŸ˜“

        Hi Felicia09,

care to share how the tuition is like? any comments so far?

my DS is in P5 2013, and I have changed afew home tutors. From my experience, these home tutors are mostly students themselves and can't be bother apart from making money during their spare time. Any comments on the 804 tuition? I am thinking of putting my son in for a try.

        Felicia09:
i remember someone is asking about the tuition course at Blk804 RC.
i just came back from there and manage to talk to the teacher. A guy around the aged of 27-28yrs old. He's teaching Maths.

Quite impressive when he explained to me on how they teach the kids to solve the maths sum. But actual fact hv to try out first. πŸ˜„
Currently no one register for P1 maths yet. And there're 2 P2 students now.
P1 and P2 students share the same timing. I believe coz the total students is not many.

He'll give out worksheet for the kids to do for the 1st 45mins, before he start teaching for the next 45mins. The teacher seem quite friendly and will jokes with the kids.

For those interested, currently the schedule for P1 is as below:
        Eng > Tues > 5.30-7pm
        Maths > Thurs > 3.00-4.30pm
        Chinese > Mon > 5.00-6.30pm

        One subject -$60/mth
        2 subjects - $100/mth
        3 subjects - $150/mth

        Materials fee : $3/mth/subject

Registration fee : $10 (one time payment).

        If interested, can call : 9864 9506, 9386 1088

Btw this tuition lessons is under a company called Spring College International.

          HI itsjustme,

I’m not sure coz my girl will only be attending the maths class in coming January 2013, but i do have good impression on the teacher as he seems to be enthusiastic in teaching the kids. Maybe u can go to the RC on and talk to the teacher and understand more.

Btw, your DS so far only have home tutor? any other tuition class?

            HI FairyP,
As per my earlier post, the A3 art bag was sold @ $4.90 during the Popular Sale at expo. So i have brought one during that time. Even if school does not need it, i will use it for my kids art paper as they like to do coloring.

Today i was trying to sewn the name tag, and my sewing skill is terrible. Hope it dont look too ugly on my girl's uniform. Btw any idea, name tag also need to sewn on the PE shirt?

              Hi Queen,

Didn't hear from you for quite a while...can check with you on the following?
              (i) Do we need to sew name tag on PE t-shirt?
(ii) Does P1 require use of the A3 art bag?
(iii) Normal white socks for PY can or is PY strict to enforce logo type?

              Thanks πŸ˜‚

              Hi qq_guy,

Didn't see your posts lately too. Bought uniform & books for your kid already?

              Hi Felicia,

I'm seeking Queen's help to advise on the name tag part. Hopefully, either Queen or the other PY parents who see our post can assist too πŸ˜‰

As a last resort, I'll be going to PY next Mon to buy uniform & collect books. Will check with them if need be & let you know :imcool:

                Hi Felicia09,

thanks for your suggestion. I'll go down to have a look.

I only tried 1 to 1 tuition thus far as my belief is that my DS can get the attention of the tutor. But apart from his current Maths tutor that does helps him to improve, the same can't be said about his other tutors. I'll take a look and properly also the other tuition centre nearby.

I paid 40 an hour for this maths tutor after recommendation from my sis. throughout my 2 years, i have tried afew tutors ranging from 15-25 an hour and non of them seems to work, hence I’ve decided to trust someone who is more better qualified.

For the PE shirt, my DS class doesn’t need to but i saw students from other class have their names sewn on. I am not quite sure if its needed. May I suggest you to wait for school to reopen and check with the form teacher or something.

                      Hi parents

You may wish to refer to the student handbook on pg 8 and 9 regarding the nametag on uniform and PE shirt. Hope this helps.

                        Hi Fairy

I have been busy for the past week after the orientation.
Yes I have bought the uniforms and order via online for the textbooks and the stationery. Infact I bought all items on the book list. As for the uniform, I bought 3sets of skirt and shirt. For PE short and shirt, I bought 2sets, as recommanded from the shop seller. I ve ask them abt the name tag, they say just need to be iron on the shirt instead of PE shirt. The name tag can be iron, but the shop seller say can sew on it as well to have double protection. As for the socks, I bought 3pairs from PY since I m there to buy the uniform. I also bought 2pairs of white shoe from Bata. The school bag I bought from kinder Fun at united sq,SPI brand,my friend recommand to me,as it support the children's back. So you have bought everything?

My gal just join the student care on Dec,so far so good,my gal is enjoying it. As now is school holiday,so lots of program for the kids.

I have also bought some assessment book for my gal last week, as popular is having a 20%sales. I aso apply a popular card for myself in order to get more disc,as my gal can only apply when she got a student card from sch.

So how's ur gal in the student care, you have enrol her in the DEC holiday?

3more weeks to countdown. Looking forward for the days to come.Dun noe how's the school life going to be for the kids. Ha..
