Thank you all for the wonderful tips and advices. Forgot the check \"Notify me when a reply is posted\" Thought nobody bothered to advise....hhahah anyway I really appreciate your sharing....
I've gotten the green light from my gynae to travel....hahha...so happy...
My maid's from Indonesia, will bring her passport and work permit...
We'll be travelling by coach... still considering whether to take the 26 seater (with no entertainment & massage chair) or top up $35 for 26 or 18 seater with entertainment & massage chair. Anyway will be bringing the portable DVD to kill time...
As for hotel, we've got no choice since the package is tied to First World Hotel...I really cross my finger that we'll be given a good room (package is Deluxe room), preferably Tower 2.....the tip about \"jumping queue\" hope that i can exercise this privilege...hahhaa...
Theme park pass, ya likely we'll take the day pass for indoor...can pre-ampt the excitement my kids will \"exhibit\"....hhahhaha imagine the ferris wheel in downtown east already drive them to crazy screams!!! not to mention the carousel, rides, etc......
how about food...? any good recommendations, pls share??? -
Erm, food-wise, i heard the hainan chicken is terrible. the Bak kut teh at the indoor food court is ok, the char siew rice is not bad.. my kids loved it.. most of the places are so so only.. at tourist pricing too..
we also ate at coffee bean, not nice.. n the Hou mei restaurant.. that's ok also.. the hong kong restaurant upstairs is not bad, think its called causeway? that's about all I can think of.. hope it helps..
oh and if u are into shopping, the Mango Outlet is really cheap!! but sizes are limited and it's past seasons stuff.. but i still managed to get stuff.. -
Mrsbongz, thks for all the yummy suggestions....hmmm tourist pricing? tot i could eat good stuff at cheaper price riding on the exchange difference, like eat shark fin in Bangkok...
never mind, will check it out when I'm there....MANGO and CHEAP!!! good for you!! WOW :rahrah: ...so tempting leh...but me preggy now, hope to find clothes that can suit me....
btw, how about supermarkets? coz i thinking of buying diapers and milk powder (Mamil Gold with Honey Step 3) when i reach Genting so as to reduce the weight of my luggage....I haven start packing yet but i can foresee that i'll be bringing tonnes of things....medication for me alone will take up a big part of my luggage...I'll be bringing my medication for heartburn/indigestion, fever/pain (paracetamol), constipation, giddiness/vomitting, etc...got any barang barang that is MUST Bring one? anyone out there pls share.....
So far, I've heard some negative stories like eating chicken rice at Yong Ping (dunno the correct spelling) and got diarrhea...scary leh....wonder how i can tahan if i got diarrhea in the midst of the journey!!! 6hrs of road travelling.. Also heard about yucky toilet condition (even those within shopping complex) and all squatting ones...nearly faint coz i dun think i can squat for long now....and people smoking even inside air-con shopping complex (not casino).....btw...any rule that bans preggy woman into the casino?
in the meantime, may all of u have a nice day ahead!!
:thankyou: -
Going to Theme Park, tell them you’re pregnant (if you do not look preggy enough yet), they can offer you child rate, since you can take the rides. This is not written anywhere, but when I went last Nov, when preggy, I asked, they allowed.

wow!!! another privilege for preggy!!!!
keep the list going pls..... :rotflmao: -
Hi,
There is a watson at 1st world hotel. I recall that they sell diapers but not too sure about milk powder. If you’ve a preferred brand, it’s better to bring your own. If you are gg in a big group (+ relative, etc…) hopefully there is extra pair of hands to help out. In our family trip in Dec last yr by coach (24 of us), we actually packed the diaper, milk, etc… in those big trolley luggage (with spinner wheels type) so that it’s easier for my hubby to manage and pull around. While the other kids and me just take care of our own luggage. Another thing we did was for my 3 yr old, we offered her pkt milk iso milk bottle + powder. She was fine with it. I brought some powder + bottle just in case.
Also, I made my 3 yr old wear those plastic bibs during meals so that she won’t dirty her clothes and I need not bring so many set of clothes for her.
I carried a haversack on the coach and made sure we’ve wet tissues, pull up pants, milk, plastic bag (for rubbish/ soiled diaper) and 1 set of extra clothes for the 3 yr old. Not forgetting sweater in case the aircon is alittle cold for the little ones.
Food at Genting is indeed not cheap. Even places like Macdonalds, Marrybrown, etc… are quite expensive. During our dec trip with the agent, they actually provided all the meals and it was quite good. They brought us to places that we don’t usually go if we were to drive up ourselves. For breakfast, not sure if you are provided free breakfast at 1st world. -
IMHO, I prefer Theme Park hotel, big & cheap, haha!
Quad Room = 2 queen sized beds!
Also get the Holiday Card to save some $ too. U need to buy it online & collect in Genting. I find it a very good deal, as it's 15% discount, since it's with value of RM100, but we just pay RM85! I used it at Theme Park packages. Can also be used to pay for the magic shows, etc. Save save save!
Another save $ tip!
Early checkout & completion of feedback form from hotel gives you 30% for buffet lunch!
Email me at [email protected], share something with you. -
Yes, there's a watsons at 1st world, but the last time we went, quite a few shelves were empty, so its best to bring some.. there are ginger pills for motion sickness.. u may wanna consider those.. Think i got them at Guardian in singapore.. my kids vomited on the way down, so yes, extra clothes is impt..
I also stocked up on medication when i was at genting's watsons.. can buy from the pharmacist, no need prescription, and it's cheaper.. erm.. contraceptive pills also..
Erm, another cheapo way to save space, if anyone happen to go see a doc or paed, sometimes they have the sample packs for milk powder or even baby cereal.. if ur kids are not picky abt brands,.. u can get those and don need to carry tins.. just the packs, easier to pack also..My friends and I used to do that when our kids are younger, save money and space..

There is a convenient store @ B5 of Resort Hotel, next to Oldtown kopi (which is our fav hunt late into the nights when the kids are sleeping & our parent is looking after them, very shiok to sip kopi in the cool wee hours)
tat store’s customer are the staffs at Genting, so its much cheaper compare to those fancy outlet. -
Food wise, yah, it’s kind of expensive and some are not even near appetitising for the price one is paying. But of course, there are also those which are not bad. We like the Vietnamese Restaurant and Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant. Standard of food is guaranteed. Besides those restaurants around the Theme Park, you can also try walking to other hotels. Along the way, you will find other good places to have a good meal too.
