Art class

I highly recommend Lollipop http://www.lollipop.com.sg/ at Bangkit. They were previously at Ten Mile Junction but just shifted to Bangkit as of 29th Nov 2010. My son is there for about a year plus and my younger daughter joined him when she turned 3 y/o and is there for about half a year already. Because we are moving to the East soon, I am now looking for a art class for them to attend.

I made a compilation of the art classes mentioned earlier.

There is this art school called CAVA (creative atelier of the visual arts) at Bt Merah. You may want to check it out
I m keen to sign up my kids (5 & 3+) for art lessons. And I went to see a few art enrichment classes, been to global art, Art Zone & Kids Art (at Tiong Bahru).

My nieces learnt art there when the school were previously in katong and now my daughter is taking lessons at the current premises -

Anyone can share their experience with Kids Art? Thier registration fee had been doubled to $60 & the program is $90-$100 for every 4 lessons.
I have stopped sending ds1 to kids art since nov last year cos they have getting part time Nafa students to teach and they don't really know how to teach. Kassie and Adrian are hardly at the Tiong bahru branch. And they want to shorten the lesson from 1.5 hr to 1 hr. -

My friend's kids were taught by all these Nafa students who don't know much about kids psychology at all. They don't know how to engage them and most seem to do it asa pasttime or a way to make money?
I myself wouldn't trust these youngsters to take care of my kids, even if they can do art...
Why should my kids be made guinea pigs of youngsters who are themselves learning art?
I think most parents hear the name nafa and think they're in for a good deal, but I think the outcomes should speak for themselves....
Just my humble opinions. -
What about Kinderart and Art Zone? Anyone can share their experience with Kinderart and Art Zone?

Hi mommies!
I was reading this thread from the beginning and was really convinced that Kids Art is a good art schhol till the last few posts. sob! sob! Could any mommies kindly recommend any good art schools in the west? I like the philosophy of kids art where they focus on techinique ratrher than those that expose kids to all types of mediums within a term.
BTW, mariadcruz & mummy of 2, have your kids been taught by Teacher Nita or Angela from Kids Art (Bt Timah Br)? How are they?
TIA -
My children attended Funovator's art and craft workshop. They organises fun and interactive classes that will help children aged 3 and above familiarise themselves with various art materials, clay, suncatcher and window paints from Orange Elephant.
If you are insterested. Hurry!!! Limited slots are only available for the next workshop which will start on 12 Feb Saturday (1.00pm to 2.30pm).

I engage Teacher Thom from lifelong journey who comes down to our house to teach my DD and DS. Actually, taking all things into consideration (travel expenses, time and also one-to-one versus a classroom setting), I consider it value for money.
Nothing beats individual attention for a tailored course. My kids can be a hyper bunch lol
Plus, the fact that my kids have been producing great works...and feel good about themselves! That's what counts most, at the end of my busy day lol
