Using Relative's Address & Statutory Declaration

i am thinking of making a SD for my ds for 2011 P1 registration. I have read thru this thread, but still have a couple of questions.


Q1. How to we define working full time? must be > then certain number of hours a day? Is working everyday from 9am to 2pm full time?

Q2. MOE website states that \"Both parents are working full-time at the time the statutory declaration was made;\", means we only need to ensure that both parents r working during that time? After that, does not matter anymore?

Write to MOE and ask. They are best positioned to give you the answer as they administer the SD.

But my guess is that the expectation is for both parents to work full-time throughout your child's education (just like the living within 1km thing) though there are no repercussions if the situation changes.

looking at SD stuff too… regarding the SD using grandparents address… it mentioned that must be ‘full time care’.

Does that mean that I cannot register for a school using SD, and then still send my DD to in-house school care (if they ever decide to build one) or a outside BASC (then schoolbus will fetch her from BASC to school) since it will mean that DD is not under ‘full time care’ of the grandparents (the school is still double session so pri 1 will be PM session)?

My parents will be > 70years old when DD goes to primarch school, not very good to let them wake up at 7am and then sleep after 10pm everyday leh…

Pls advise …

That means your parents are not main caregiver, right? So, how can you register your child via the caregiver route? :scratchhead: You can only register your child using this route if your parents or your in-laws are TRULY looking after your child.

Personally, I don't consider your parents as caregivers, then. If your parents are the main caregivers, it means you don't send your girl to any BASC. If you send your girl to BASC, your parents are not the main caregivers. Period.

However, that's my view only. To be sure, you may like to contact MOE.

By going to the main caregiver route, you are gaining an advantage because your girl will be in the 1-2 km category, assuming you are staying more than 2 km from the school. Now, if someone else stays 1-2 km from the school, and gets balloted out, it seems quite unfair, right?

You can use your mum's address if she is main caregiver of your child.

and that both you & your spouse must be working and your mum is not.
