Does that mean that I cannot register for a school using SD, and then still send my DD to in-house school care (if they ever decide to build one) or a outside BASC (then schoolbus will fetch her from BASC to school) since it will mean that DD is not under 'full time care' of the grandparents (the school is still double session so pri 1 will be PM session)?

My parents will be > 70years old when DD goes to primarch school, not very good to let them wake up at 7am and then sleep after 10pm everyday leh...

      Pls advise ...
That means your parents are not main caregiver, right? So, how can you register your child via the caregiver route? :scratchhead: You can only register your child using this route if your parents or your in-laws are TRULY looking after your child.

qms, it means my parents are half the caregiver. Cos in the morning since its too early, I will put her in BASC. But after school, she will go to my parents place to rest and have dinner and etc before I pick her up.

Personally, I don't consider your parents as caregivers, then. If your parents are the main caregivers, it means you don't send your girl to any BASC. If you send your girl to BASC, your parents are not the main caregivers. Period.

However, that's my view only. To be sure, you may like to contact MOE.

By going to the main caregiver route, you are gaining an advantage because your girl will be in the 1-2 km category, assuming you are staying more than 2 km from the school. Now, if someone else stays 1-2 km from the school, and gets balloted out, it seems quite unfair, right?

              Hi,

Would appreciate any advise… my girl used to be taken care by my mum. But I put my girl in full time child care 2 years ago because my mum need to take care of my younger one. But when she is Primary One, she will be going back to my mother house after school. I will then bring her back home at night after work. In this case, can I use my mum for SD?

              Many thanks!

You can use your mum's address if she is main caregiver of your child.

and that both you & your spouse must be working and your mum is not.

Sure! So long as you are using your address in your NRIC.

Hi Parents, just to share our experience on Statutory Declaration. One of the required docs is birth (BC) for proofing the relationship bet parent & grandparent. As I m not sure where hubby put his BC, I called up MOE to check whether there is other alternative doc can show the proof. I was then told that if our marriage cert shows my father in law as witness then it would suffice the requirement. However, when hubby went down to MOE, the marriage cert was rejected & it must be BC. Then I called MOE hotline to reconfirm & the guy said yes but then when I said hubby is right at the counter service & his colleague is not accepting the doc, i was put On hold & he apologized that he had provided incorrect info. I was so xx$??$$@& so parents, learning fr my mistake, any confirmation always good to back up with written confirmation.
