It takes a special breed to want to do this kind of stuff, and I am glad they exist. It balances the hypocrisy of many others.
Not sure what these folk have done to advance the cause or welfare of Singaporeans.
Having said that, it doesn't necessarily mean I agree with everything they say. -

I don't think it takes very much to sit in front of a keyboard and be a malcontent.

More effort to get out there and be an entrepreneur and try and set up a business to feed the family and create economic value.
More work to be the bus driver or the teacher, or even the CEO, the silent victims of such \"Robin Hood\" bloggers.
How many hours of work do these bloggers put in a day, compared to our MPs?
I don't mind a analytical dismantling of illogical policies or behaviours beyond the pale.
But unsubstantiated rhetoric and slander, calculated to inflame?
Tiresome.
One sometimes wonders if these are not \"agents of a foreign entity, fomenting disharmony amongst citizens\" (right, pirate?)
The last statement is a joke of course, for those who miss it. -

I wonder where the hypocrisy sits.....[/quote]Not targetting at you when I say hypocrisy.
It sometimes amazes me the emergence of bloggers. So there's no other better work to do is it? We write on KSP, and we know how much time it takes to be writing all those stuff in front of a keyboard. I don't want to compare people's work either. Whatever one puts in, one reaps, and it is one's decision what he/ she wants to do. When someone pounds only about discontentment, you see it in time. How many people bother to dig out information like that? Isn't it more worthwhile checking out which stocks to buy and sell? Who probes into the taboos of the society? Sure, someone else will do it. Let them be the ones. Let them be the ones to get sued. They asked for it anyway, didn't they?
That's why it is not a job for you and I. People who do that, I don't think they ever treat it as a job. Sometimes, things that don't fetch any economic value is the greatest gift to a society. Economic value is just the reward. -

Economic value is not a reward, it is a necessity! If you don't think so, how about you ask the Greek or Spanish youth at 50% unemployment? If these bloggers do don't create economic value, how about they just let those who do carry on, instead of throwing bricks? They see themselves as doing service to society....I don't.
If they were more balanced, perhaps I'd be interested.....but such bloggers don't really care my type anyhow. -

Oh, I meant to say about economic value perceived as a reward for some bloggers rather than a job, not saying economic value is a reward for everyone.

Of course everyone needs a job - where else does the money come from? Obviously, some think that someone isn't performing up to par and they are just trying to behave like a boss does
Only it is a tougher job to do since you aren't paid to do it, must continue paying instead, must be careful with your words or risk being sued, and since those whose jobs are to probe aren't really probing them... :siam:
I am not a regular reader of blogs, but sometimes feel in desperate need of a balanced view from the skewed MSM. I try to achieve the balance in my own perceptions by reading from various sources, not in trying to see balance in others' perceptions. Of course, having a comprehensive, well-written, balance view in one article is more convincing and convenient like a one-stop shop where you're more likely to patronise again.
I suppose they exist because of how our society and political climate has evolved. Again, the cause and effect. For every force that exist, there will always be a counter /opposing force
There is really no good or bad, it's just how one perceives it to be. And I suppose these unique bloggers (again, not saying all) exist because PAP, and our unique MSM exist.

I do agree with some points concern2 has brought up. The bloggers(not all) have a thankless job of keeping the PAP on its toes. MIW know that with the evolvement of these social platforms, not many things can be kept under wraps and away from the public’s eyes. These keyboard warriors are also heroes in their own rights. Of course , we must be discerning when reading their comments as some really do have the intention of stoking anti-govt sentiments.
I’m actually quite amazed at these bloggers , doing something not economically rewarding and probably risky , but they continued to stick to their guns. JMO -

I can't see why their jobs are more thankless than that of our leaders. I'd be a couch potato all day criticizing policies I don't understand, spending people's money I don't have, demanding policies I have no accountability for.....and get lots of Facebook likes. What's not to like? If they were wrong they'd just slink off into the dark of cyberspace. They'd have more credibility if they were balanced. Their attack dog approach contrasts poorly with the more friendly approach the PAP is taking these days. In fact, sites like TOC and bloggers like AA are the reason why I'd be solidly behind the PAP the next election.I do agree with some points concern2 has brought up. They have no clue that their unremitting attacks turn off plenty of reasonable people. Supposedly for the people but actually against plenty of citizens, irony. -
