Why did they award the bid to a $2 company??

Can pass audit meh this kind of transaction for Govt organisation....
To be honest, there is no good reason to award a $100K+ project to a $2 paid-up company especially in Government Tendering process.

I will be very wary to award such an important system to a company with just $2 paid-up capital. No commercial banks will EVER loan a single cent to a $2 paid-up company because it does not make any sense to do so - Why does our Government do that? They do owe all Singaporeans a good explanation.

It seems to warrant a further investigation to find out at the point of rewarding this contract to AIM what is its Net Tangible Asset (NTA) and Annual Sales Turn-over.

Please go to Ge Biz - Public Procurement website under Appendix B. All the bidders are grouped into different financial bands from Cat. S2 ... S10 (refer to
      http://www.gebiz.gov.sg/gettingstarted_index_eppuregistrationhtml.html.)
In this case, AIM must be qualified as minimum S2 which is NTA=$12.5K and Sales Turnover=$250K to bid for $100K-$250K government projects.

Another real life example of possible \"Collusion\" ???

incredulous uncovering of events.....lidat also can ar ? :slapshead:

my personal understanding of the situation ( which may or may not be accurate hor )

set up $2 company, 4 months later bid 140k for an 'intangible' entity ( software ) which was developed by a group of TCs, which then proceed to continue to use the the same software which they just previously paid to develop and owned, by leasing it back from the $2 company for a combined annual returns of >90% of the 140k PER YEAR ???

this type of lobang where to find ? lao nua leh, angchuar boh kaisiaooo ?

throw in some other seemingly subplots

The directors do NOT receive any fees or remuneration ? ?

and can terminate the lease contract with just a month’s notice “should there be a material change to the composition of the leasee \" ???

          :torchme: :torchme:

someone give me some panadol please, i read also tao tia :siao:

I thought only B grade movie writers come out with this sort of unbelievable fictional storylines........

So the TC should not have jointly developed the software? :scratchhead:

              十四(实死)TC sold software for 十四万。
Now left with 13自己人TC ... No wonder Picha lobang 😆

In a democratic society, the people wields the power to choose the govt.

A group of pple who is in control now may lose control of Govt bodies (Public transport, Airport, Power utilities, etc..) if the pple have a change of heart.

The people in control of the public entities now is almost always at the mercy of the people as far as control of the entities is concerned. They are bound by need and obligation to do the best for the pple to retain their control.

However, if it is a private entity, they are free to pass on power as they like, w/o the need for the approval of the people. Even if there is a change of Govt, these entities remains in the control of a few selected group of people.

Privatization IS for the good of the masses.. the PEOPLE..? 😆 :rotflmao:

Those are just symptoms of the disease. It was simply due to a loss of trust.

It's all pretty stupid anyway, once trust is lost it is extremely difficult to earn back. And that is something so basic that we teach it to our kiddoes.
Pirate, no personal attacks intended - but, can't help saying this out of my own frustrations - that this is not just based on one mistake. Doesn't it look like there is rotting going on? And getting kind of out-of-control now? Whatever happens, the people will still be the ones who suffer most. Yes, our responsibilities as parents weigh heavy on our shoulders.

I have this nagging suspicion that the software is capable of more functions and by taking it out of the hands of the TCs, the new owners have super-admin rights to all information harvested (perhaps residents profiling which is essential can be used in defining the boundary constituencies) and in case Opp do win (which they did!), they will have no access to it except some generic accounting components.
